Doesn't surprise me the Saints are looking at him. That's nature of footy these days, especially with player movements becoming more commonplace.

I hope he re-signs sooner rather than later because I think he's still a very promising player with plenty of upside in the years to come.

Straight swap for Freeman????

Nope; they have to give us Brown back, as well as Carlisle, so the backline can leak like a sieve again...

Word is North have a bucket load (money earmarked for Dusty and Kelly) to throw at De Goey. Hope he has the sense to stay with the Pies and become a legend.

I doubt De Goey would be their first choice. They'll be throwing money at a bunch of players and hoping someone's as dumb as Carlisle.

The Coach may have inadvertently fanned the flames, somewhat, this morning when speaking on SEN, it seems.

I don’t think he fanned the flames. Not rushing into a contract negotiation sends him a good message I reckon. Also what is said publicly does not necessarily reflect what is said privately. Bucks pretty much said that right at the end and was clearly keeping his powder dry.

What I took from the Whateley interview is that the club isn’t 100% committed to a new contract which is exactly where we should be at this point in time. Just take a look back through the threads on this board. Before last weekend there were plenty saying get rid of him. He caused a lot of disruption and pain to his team mates and coaches. With a brilliant game last week we all saw what he is capable of on the field and naturally we all want him to stay. One performance on the field though doesn’t absolve everything but it’s a good start. If he continues to do everything right on and off field for the next 10 weeks it’ll be a nobrainer. We’ll offer him a new contract and pay him his market worth and he’ll want to stay anyway.

What have to keep JDG.

But if he leaves, we'll be asking for a kings ransom.

Or a high first round draft pick in what's reputed to be a super draft?

Clubs don't usually let 22 year old future champions and match winners go lightly,so we'd be insane to let DeGoey go just because of a couple of off field indescretions.Surely we're not that crazy, are we?

I'd happily trade JDG for Lockett and Lowe

From the mouth of his dad in front of 4 witnesses, “Saints have offered him 1.2 and he will be taking it”. Granted his dad was half cut, watching the Brisbane game, and may have been trying to stir up Micky McGuanne, but that’s what he said, according to my uncle and cousin who were with them.

Buckley is not helping with his idiotic comments.

Just come out and say he is a gun, is required and be done with it.

Not this stupid, "the future is still up in tha air" crap he dished out today.

Great week last week, pretty low impact the week before.

Great when on, inconsistent, prone to idiot behaviour. Bid away.... everything has its price.
