According to afl.com.au

Q: Why would he?
A: he wouldn’t.

I’d offload him for two first rounders, nothing less. It’s what we paid Treloar for.

Damo, I actually find it idiotic and irresponsible that the official website of the AFL even floats these rumours.
Firstly, it's way too early in the season to facilitate such rumour mongering. That should only be entertained once the H&A and/or finals series have concluded.
Secondly, what if a player takes exception to a scenario such as this, and claims it is causing mental health or anxiety issues?

Trade rumours are best left to forums such as this, and the AFL website needs to stick to facts, not fanning the flame for such fantasies.

For the right enticement he most probably would and he's within his rights to do so.

Whether or not he would, I don't know, that's up to him and the club to sort out.

We shouldn't be so naive to think modern footy is built on loyalty, it's a professional sport.

WHY go to a tragic Club that has not won a Flag in about 300 years ?? Rumours are like arseholes, as they say !!

Kind of a pointless article. Any player out of contract (and those who aren't) would have clubs targeting them. A more newsworthy article would be that clubs are not targeting De Goey.

I expect a number of clubs would be putting in the ground work. Not just because they could entice him to leave, but if he stuffs up again the club could decide to move him on.

The same people ‘offended’ by this article would be the ones losing their shit if we weren’t into Lynch already!

It happens. I’m sure DeGoey isn’t the only pie talking to other clubs.

If he stays fit then I'm backing de Goey to go the next level as a player this season and become a star we wont want to lose.

He has all the talent required so just needs to get the balance right between being a professional athlete and a man about town.

If he wishes to leave or he gets himself in trouble again then a top 5 pick in this years draft would be the starting price.
