And now he's one of two Collingwood "mid-year All-Australians" in the team selected by "staff writers" on afl.com.au (and ahead, it should be noted, of Selwood and Dangerfield, amongst others): http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-07/who-makes-our-midseason-all-australian-team

The other is Tom Phillips.

For those who are interested, a 50-strong squad was identified earlier in the week. In addition to those 2, it included Grundy, Howe and Treloar: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-06-06/your-clubs-mid-season-all-australians

Just quietly, I don't think Fyfe will present too much Brownlow competition for Sidey this year.

It's nice that Sidey made it, if only on the bench.

The real point of interest is that this is the second time this week that Tom Phillips has been acknowledged as one of our top two players. Robbo had him in his AA team as well, along with Grundy.

it's a bit bizarre how quickly his stock has risen. Next we're going to hear that he's a Brownlow chance.

Again, even more remarkable that they are both behind Phillips.

Phillips is between 100/1 and 250/1 in current betting for the Brownlow. Those seem like a fair risk/reward balance to me.

So, how many votes will Sidey win the Brownlow by? He should have at least 15 by now, if the umpires are capable of picking the same top 3 in each game as the coaches.

Saying he has 15 votes at the half way point of the season is IMO about right depending on umpires that is
He could have as few as 7 or as many as 19 but the umps generally see mids more than others which is good for him but we've had several players who have had excellent games which will take votes away from him
He would need at least 30 votes to be in the hunt so crossed fingers his second half is as good as his first half

Methinks it's his turn to kick 5 goals. Everyone else has had his turn.
