Blair was BOG in the VFL and is an in and under midfielder, perhaps replacing Adams. I'd certainly prefer Wills or Sier to come in, but let's not ignore the logic of rewarding Blair for his excellent VFL form. So it's not Bucks who is inept. |
Blair wasn't even top 5 on Sunday, let alone BOG. |
Round 1 – Northern Blues vs Collingwood, Preston City Oval
Jarryd Blair - Listed in the AFL selected side as the first emergency for the clash with Carlton, Blair put his hand up for a return to the highest level with a dominant performance in the Pies' 130-point demolition of the Northern Blues at the Preston City Oval on Saturday. He won plenty of the ball through the middle of the ground and also hit the scoreboard and was named Collingwood's best player. Stats summary: 28 disposals (82% efficiency), six inside-50s, five tackles
Best - Collingwood: Jarryd Blair, Smith, Mayne, De Goey, Wills, Borthwick
GOALS - Elliott 5, De Goey 4, Fasolo 4, Borthwick 4, Chippendale 2, Mayne 2, Daicos 2, Jarryd Blair 2, Smith, Oxley, McLarty, Jack Blair, Sier, Wellings |
Propaganda. Ask anybody who was there.
Mayne was also not deserving of being in the best.
Buckley's selections continue to confuse us. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

Per Warren Tredegar
Word around @TheAdelaideOval that skipper Taylor Walker may be a late out for tonight’s game, Gallucci a chance to come in. _________________ All We Can Be |

If I was to describe my feeling heading into this match then it's once of anticipation.
I'm not feeling a strong sense of optimism but nor am I crippled by pessimism.
Adelaide deserve to be favourites and should win but a surprise Collingwood victory isn't totally out the question.
One thing I do know however is that we'll have to play at our best for far longer periods than last round to stand any chance.
Buckley was absolutely right in not being overly impressed with our second half last week. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Makes sense given the forecast and inclusion of Fogarty. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Bucks wasn’t the only unimpressed viewer of second half —sure we weren’t as aggressive and prepared to risk all our opponents never managed to make a match winning dent on the score board
Rarer than hens teeth by any side is 120 minutes of the ultimate football game—all sides drift out at sometime even on the way to say 10 goal win _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

If it rains, and Cox is selected, Buckley can pack his coaching bags tonight. _________________ Est. 2002 |

isn't he one of several on the selection committee?
Admittedly if you could guarantee it was going to rain buckets I'd be looking for options too. But then he may find more time in the ruck with Grundy's sticky fingers in the forward line. Fas or Mayne are the only replacements and 'might' be better in the wet but then it wont help structure _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

If it rains and cox is still selected, we could use him as a decoy lead or occupy space, where one of their best defenders or a double team will follow and create space.
And if cox is having a stinker up forward, I would rather have the option of putting him in the ruck and grundy up forward.
We need to also reduce Lairds influence on the game as well, his ball winning and disposal is a big part of the crows game. |

Hahahahaha.
Seriously though, Buckley has continued to select too many talks throughout his tenure when it rains. Some of the Grundy / Witts selections when it rained, and more recently the selection of Cox in slippery conditions, is ludicrous. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Cox was a liability in greasy conditions in Round 1. If the deck is wet, he should have a spell. |

Seriously, football is a winter sport unlike cricket which is a summer sport, so football is played in any weather and if any footballer makes an excuse that the weather didn't suit him, that footballer should pack up his football gear and trade it in for cricket gear, or baseball gear, because that footballer shouldn't call himself a footballer. |
