^^

Without any more disasters, Smith, Moore, Greenwood, Magden, Goldsack and Broomhead will be the only players not available for selection by Anzac Day.

Moore will be ready soon after.

A flurry of action at Wednesday Open training with most of the group in action

Now with an ounce of luck and shrewd management we could see some more players ready from say Anzac game—more is the task of keeping the best of the best together

On that note a disappointing loss round one followed up by a give all gutsy effort round two —put some experience and polish in and we are still a hope for more wins than losses 👍👍👍

I see that a 2002 NFL survey (with only 2/3 response rate) revealed the following:

"Seventy-seven percent of the trainers have referred to a chiropractor for evaluation or treatment, and 23% have not. Thirty-one percent of NFL teams use a chiropractor in an official capacity on their staffs, and 69% do not. When asked to identify conditions appropriate for referral to a chiropractor, the respondents identified low back pain (61%), "stingers" and "burners" usually associated with neck injury (31%), headaches (8%), asthma or other visceral disorders (0%)."

NFL:

There are 24 listed here. If they are all current, then that's now 75%.

WAFL (2009):
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3501910/

Chiropractor working directly within the structure of the medical team: Claremont, South Fremantle, Subiaco, Swan Districts, West Perth.
“Refer out” to a designated chiropractor as necessary: East Fremantle, Perth.
Declined the services of a chiropractor: East Perth, Peel Thunder.

Thanks K, you really are Nicks official researcher.

An elite sporting clubs acceptance ( or not ) of a chiropractors benefits, seem like an independent decision from one club to the next. By extension, that same attitude seems to appear across a multitude of sports also.
I still believe, given our poor soft tissue record over the years, I would at least hope we have explored that avenue. If they have and the club saw no improvement, then that’s fine.

Does anybody know how Chiropractos are accredited and regulated? Always been a mystery to me. Do Universities issue degrees etc? Or do Chiropractors accredit each other through some system they control themselves?

No major accidents this week thank F!

Also it seems that the info from late last week was incorrect;

Jamie Elliott, Ankle, 1 week. Played VFL and was fantastic. Probably needs one more week in the 2's and likely to avoid the short plane trip to Adelaide.

Adam Oxley, Shoulder, 1-2 weeks. Played VFL and kicked a goal.

Josh Smith, Hamstring, 3-4 weeks

Darcy Moore, Hamstring, 3-4 weeks

Kayle Kirby, Irregular Heart Beat, TBC

Levi Greenwood, Knee, TBC

Jack Magden, Illness, TBC

Tyson Goldsack, Knee, Season.

Tim Broomhead, Leg, Season.

Available for selection in AFL and VFL:
Cox and ReidPlayed AFL and were good. Fasolo and Mayne. Played VFL and were very good. Fas in particular. Both put their hand up for the trip to Adelaide, but Mayne will probably still need to back it up in the 2s.

To resume in VFL:
Wells, De Goey. Wells didnt play? and De Goey was another star in the VFL win. Has his club suspension ended? He is required in the AFL.

So from all that, Smith and Moore are 3-4 weeks off. Greenwood, Magden and Kirby are TBC. Broomhead and Goldsack are gone for the year. Wells, who knows?

Things starting to look much better.

Josh Smith
Hamstring, 2-3 weeks.

Darcy Moore
Hamstring, 2-3 weeks.
(Slight possibility to return on Anzac Day, but most likely the game 4 days later Vs Richmond).

Levi Greenwood
Knee, 2-3 weeks.
(Shown good signs and eying off senior selection in coming weeks).

Kayle Kirby
Irregular Heart Beat, TBC.
(Been undergoing tests since the incident. Things looking very good and has done some light training. Will be expected to hit full training soon).

Out for the season:
Tyson Goldsack, Knee.
Tim Broomhead, Leg.

Will resume in VFL:
Daniel Wells and Jack Magden.

Definitely looking much better P35

The Tigers game for Moore, at the absolute earliest. Must be 110% before he comes back. I'd even give him another week or two on top of that.

We seem to rush blokes back from hamstring injuries, then suffer the consequences.
