∆∆Just pointing out that the Adams setback had only added an extra fortnight, at worst, to his recovery time. With the bye coming up, he'll miss three to 4 more games.

No official news on Grundy or Langdon yet. |
Grundy apparently will play still a bit sore but with the bye coming he will play
Langdon is set to get further scans on knee after showing no signs of healing with rest thus far. Apparently if scans show tear hasn't started repairing he will go under knife next week if scans show some repair he will consult doctor again to plan out recovery
More than likely surgery heading his way
Worst thing is we keep delaying surgery or hoping players heal then they don't then get the surgery anyways and we have wasted 2 or 3 weeks of recovery time they could have had after surgery
I'm starting to really lose faith in our medical department
If Beams hip was as bad as reported then why wait 4 weeks until he's completely shot and he's been exposed to further damage playing with it since round 7 ? |

Hindsight they say is a wonderful thing—so in hindsight the club knowing of his problem with hip and he said this when asked why he was being rested for a game “The club will monitor it and rest given thru season as needed”

The club’s medical fraternity still beggars belief.
They allow Adams to push to play after an initial 4-5 week diagnosis after just 2-3 weeks. He tears the scar tissue.
And I get that surgery is always the last resort, but it seems that every ‘wait and see and hope it corrects itself’ injury inevitably succumbs to surgery anyway at a collingwood. Playing a clearly injured Beams is/was lunacy, and most definitely cost us the win last week ... he could’ve even bend over FFS.

Quote: | Flynn Appleby - Ankle (TEST) Waiting for VFL team
Mason Cox - Ankle (TEST) Available.
Brodie Grundy - Ankle (TEST) Available.
Jamie Elliott - Hamstring (1-2 Weeks) On track.
Taylor Adams - Groin (3-4 Weeks) Minor setback. Previously 1-2 Weeks
Tom Langdon - Knee (4 Weeks) There is a chance he will go under the knife and miss the rest of the season. Waiting for official word.
Will Kelly - Leg (6-9 Weeks)
Daniel Wells - Knee (12 Weeks)
Dayne Beams - Hip (12 Weeks)
Nathan Murphy - Ankle (Indefinite)
Lynden Dunn - Knee (Season) |
Pray that the reports on Langdon are misinformed. Still listed as 4 weeks, but we'll know more soon hopefully.
Adams is not a big setback. We'll only have to wait two weeks longer. Just make sure he is actually 100% Pies before putting him out there. If he needs to sit a few weeks longer then do that.
Cox fit. Grundy fit. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

After last season, other clubs commissioned external reviews of their fitness & medical departments. Maybe it's time ours did too. The staff in those areas can't properly review themselves. And Walsh wouldn't know about that sort of thing, so his review can't have covered it either.
Channel 7 report that Beams has not had his surgery yet and they believe it will happen in Tasmania. |

Crows have 43 out of 44 to choose from. Them getting over GWS would be good for us. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Correct there is a guru hip surgeon there who's done many of these operations
Apparently he's had players with similar injuries back on the field in 8-10 weeks more often than not which would put Beams 2-6 weeks ahead of the time line touted by the club giving him a chance to play a few rounds before finals started as a best case scenario
K a full review is needed wee seem to always be going down the same road
Rest rest rest then after a few weeks operation
We are losing players for weeks longer than necessary it seems if the operation went ahead straight away
We are still none the wiser about Langdon who will be close to 3 weeks out before he goes to the surgeon again for what's been said will be to schedule surgery
To me it's just not right |

Look our injury list is still better then this time last year. We just need a good run for a few weeks.
Again we are going to need the mid-level players to step up. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Appleby has not been selected to take on Casey in the VFL. Another week off for him. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
