Langdon takes steps toward injury comeback
https://www.smh.com.au/sport/afl/langdon-takes-steps-toward-injury-comeback-20200212-p5404g.html
"The next month will determine when Collingwood defender Tom Langdon will be in a position to return to full training, after his surgeon gave him the all-clear to ramp up his preparation as he attempts to overcome a troublesome knee.
...
Collingwood confirmed Langdon won't be available at the start of 2020, saying he will be a chance to return to full training within the next eight weeks if he copes well with an increased training load."
[So still a very slow process, even if it all goes well.] |

I heard if Langdon has no further setbacks, he could be available for team selection from ANZAC Day. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

He hasnāt played for what 9 or 10 months so even if his first possible game Anzac Day it would be a few VFL games required

The Langdon Saga. So, 8 weeks until he is able to train fully. He'll obviously play some VFL too, before coming straight back in.
8-9 weeks until full training gets him to early/mid April. So hopefully he's back at least playing VFL by the time we play the Power in round 5. You never know, he might be eying off Anzac Day! That'd be something.
Update from post in September:

Jordan De Goey - Hamstring. Was a chance to come in had we beaten GWS. Will have a full pre season and be ready for round 1.
Collingwood has taken a conservative approach with JDG this pre-season. He has been involved in full training and will be ready for round 1, but I dont think he took part in the hitout vs Geelong
Isaac Quaynor - Foot. Took part in the training hit out and will also be ready for round 1 after a full pre-season.
Has taken part in full training including match simulation Vs Geelong last Thursday.
Will Kelly - Hamstring. Almost back to full training. Will be ready for round 1.
Has taken part in full training including match simulation Vs Geelong last Thursday.
Levi Greenwood - Knee. This one is our worst. Levi will not be able to train during the pre-season and will miss most of the 2020 season. Hopefully we see him some back Goldsack style.
Will not be ready until the last month of the season
Mason Cox - Eye. Will be fine for round 1.
Has taken part in full training including match simulation Vs Geelong last Thursday.
Dayne Beams - Hip/Shoulder. Bit of an unknown. Hopefully he is recovering well.
Is going to announce his retirement some time in the coming week.
Lynden Dunn - Knee. With Goldsack and Wells already calling it a day, Dunn could be next. He has been running and making his way back to full training. Has made it clear he wants to go again, but we'll have to see.
Expected to be back on the list in the upcoming SSP or whatever its called. I cant find much on him, but I expect that he's fit if we are brining him back.
Tom Langdon - Knee. Another unknown. We missed him in the second half of the year. I think he should be ok early in 2020, but have not heard anything.
Is 8 weeks off from full training. Looking at around round 5 or 6. |
Varcoe has been added with the shoulder problem.
So I'm kinda having a guess here, but after the game in Geelong and with 4 weeks until round 1.....;
COLLINGWOOD
Travis Varcoe - Shoulder (6-7 Weeks)
Tom Langdon - Knee (8-9 Weeks)
Levi Greenwood - Knee (20+ Weeks)
Dayne Beams - Mental Health (Retired)
Does anyone know if Nathan Murphy has been on the track? He had a neck issue which I cant find anything on. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned!

The Coach has had a habit of picking TFC when Heās been out for ages and is half-fit. I presume thatās because the Club appreciates His class. You can expect He will be brought back again way before Heās ready and that people on here will complain about Him being merely great, rather than perfect.
Anyway, the team is probably good enough to make the Finals with or without TFC, so itās a matter of making sure He has plenty of opportunity to get into top form before September. |

The words from Bucks in the article on the CFC website seem to indicate that it could well be a process that won't end well at all. Let's hope that Bucks is just being prudent and guarded in his comments. |

Sorry to say it folks I feel Langdon days of playing footy are over sadly. He will probably announce retirement in 3 weeks time. I hope im proved wrong but his knee isn't getting better and it is reoccurring issue too. Pity he is only fairly young too.i just hope he gets it right very soon. |
