Remember round 1 1990. Many of you won’t but those who do will remember a 6 goal drubbing by the Eagles and our new star recruit rover being reported for kicking Alex Rance’s old man. ...A high-profile, loud mouthed President. ... I wonder what ever did happen that season. Got a familiar ring to it?[/url]

at the time, I suggested this was the most optimistic post of the year. I stand by it. Damien, you were onto something. I wasn't with you after round one, so hats off to you.

"A high-profile, loud mouthed President". Ahem...

Six weeks for a "kick" that was basically a toe-poke that grazed the other guy's leg... Sigh...

A self-indulgent bump as I enjoy the afterglow of last night. We’ve come a long way this year. Two steps to go maybe...

Good call Damien.

I thought we'd finish 5th this year, and after that, who knows.

As it stands we've already had an incredibly successful season, but the job isn't finished yet. From about half way thru the season I thought we could go all the way. I know one thing, the Tigers are shitting bricks.

Yep, you never ever write your team off after a round one loss.
History may show that you were beaten by the eventual premiers of that year.
I remember thinking that the Hawks looked good and I was happy to keep my powder dry.
History now shows the Hawks were pretty good and we honed our craft as the year rolled on. One off season is a long time in footy
