Look, I'm a little worried.

But it's very hard to predict anything after the last 2 seasons. And it seems everyone says "if the Dogs and Tigers can do it.....".

I felt like the club was having a great pre-season without too many hiccups. And then the JDG thing happened. And the we were hit with some injuries. But I dont know how bad they really are, Goldsacks aside. I mean niggles happen.

So yeah. I was hoping for a top 8 finish. And I thought it was possible.

But I've had my confidence knocked since most of the media, namely Judd and Brown, have predicted another low finish.

We have a tough start to the year. We cannot repeat our 2-6 start of the past two seasons.

I'm going to say 7th to 10th. And obviously hope for a finals birth and a finals win.

My biggest fear: 10th/11th, that is neither here nor there, and not knowing if we are heading in the right direction.

Next worst fear: 13th to 18th, which would at least prove we are heading in the wrong direction with our current coaching regime and something must change.
Fear: 9th: which kind of indicates that we're heading upwards, but slowly.
Realistic hope: 8th
Less realistic but greater hope: 6th/7th
Don't believe anything above 6th is possible.

Yep, neither here nor there is about right.
The media don't rate us and even us fans are scratching our heads.

Our draw is better than pretty damn good. That will see us win 11 games and finish 10th. I just cannot see how we are going to trouble most sides given how limp our forward half is. We are just not a powerful unit.

Considering current injuries, we could in theory have a full squad in about 6 weeks. If we then have a good run with injury and the likes of Elliott and Wells can play 80% of the remaining games our stocks will improve significantly.

14th.

We needed some luck early in the season to get off to a good start and get some wins on the board to build some team confidence for the rest of the season. Unfortunately due to injuries and interrupted pre-seasons for some key players (including our two best forwards) I think we will be lucky to win more than one or two games in the first 6 rounds. It will be a hard road back from there.

Pretty negative I know, but the key to life is low expectations. Wink
