Can any track-watchers give some info on Kirby? Is he training (in any way) at the moment? We all know his issues and I have an awful feeling that he'll be quietly delisted and never spoken of again...really hoping that won't be the case |

I'm hoping he'll be delisted and then rookied.
Obviously it depends on his medical diagnosis, but he is still very young and is a prodigious talent. Even if hit took him a couple of years to become a senior player, he'd still only be around 22, which is still young. |

Most likely scenario, perhaps Broomhead as well in that same circumstance. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Kirby hasn't been cleared to resume training, while Broomhead has resumed training, which includes riding a scooter around the training ground to exercise his broken leg. |

Not sure how that helps the bone knit; he really needs to spend his recovery in the swimming pool IMO. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

FWIW, Walsh did claim in his report a few weeks ago that they would soon have more medical news on him (which seems a bit odd, because the club supposedly already knew the medical situation). |

Has Walsh said anything on Kirby - I normally look for the injury update and not heard anything. Would be good to know whats going on - its not as though its a big story, why would it matter if we knew how he was progressing? _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

He was with a group of senior players watching the VFL final on the weekend, so it seems he still sees himself as part of the club. Let's hope his health concerns can be addressed and he can begin his road back to becoming a senior player once again, as he is certainly a prodigious talent.
The silky skills and goal sense which Kirby has are priceless. They can't be taught, so I just hope his medical prognosis allows him to fulfill his football destiny. |

I've not seen much but I thought he might have the strongest hands for tackling on the list. The few he laid were vise like. _________________ We shall set our course by the stars and not ships that pass in the night |

He's only 19 turning 20 in Oct, so extremely young _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

We were prepared to persist with Sier on the list for a while before he got there, if Kirby's heart condition can be managed, don't see why we wouldn't do the same. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

He's finished I'm afraid. Lucky to have got through pre season with his physical limitations. Could have been an exceptional footballer, but not to be. _________________ 3KZ is football |

Assuming the advice is that his heart problem can be managed (as successfully as Stevo's is) then I hope the Special K is kept on as a project player for a couple of years.
If the advice is ambiguous or uncertain then I can't see him being retained. Unfortunately, we already have too many players with unreliable bodies taking up valuable list positions - Elliot, Reid, Wells, Moore. _________________ Side by side. |
