Didnt end up being named for the Saints game last night

They have so many gun mids, it’s hard to break in to the lineup. That’s why they’re top 4.

"The 23-year-old has now played six consecutive games with the Saints' VFL affiliate side Sandringham, and recorded 29 disposals, seven marks and a goal in Sunday's 66-point loss to Richmond."

Unreal to think the guys we picked at 6 and 10 have had such drama.

I'm not sure playing for StK right now counts as the Big Stage. Wink

Just imagine the drama we'd have created if we had picks 1 and 5. (Botulism! Alien invasion!)

And taking into account their games played and Freeman’s average games per season, even if Schaz never got back Freeman would probably still need to be going around at 350 years old to catch Schaz’s games tally.

its just really sad for both of them. They spent their entire lives planning to be great at one thing, and for whatever reason (and we have mass debated those reasons forever on this board), their bodies simply wont allow them to perform at the highest level.

I for one just wish any player struggling with injuries nothing but best wishes.

For guys such as Scharenberg, Freeman and Menzel from the cats (the guys who appear to be struggling against insurmountable odds) I find the level of dedication to their craft quite inspiring.

For some reason, others feel nothing but anger towards them. I'll NEVER understand that.

The lowdown on fox footy last night showed him doing some laps
His top half of his body looked sensational but it's below the waist that needs to hold up
I hope the kid gets a few games in
I never want to see any player from any club have a career ruined by injury it goes against my sense of fairness
He was a top 10 draft pick and highly rated as a junior
Good luck to him his done well to get to this point

the problem was that was the year Nicks was whinging about having a one-paced midfield so we became obsessed with getting a speedy midfielder (who could break the lines and the then vaunted Hawthorn zone!!).

Sadly, it wasn't until the following year that Nicks decided that we needed BIG BODIED MIDFIELDERS like fyfe. Carlton either got lucky or were first to the big bodied midfield party. We have since made up for it by getting Sier and DeGoey into the fold.

It is the big trap of drafting for need rather than best available.... Teams fall for it ALL the time!
