last I heard he injured his shoulder in May in the VFL. As far as I know, he hasn't played a game since.

I think this kid must have run over a Chinaman who was carrying a black cat and a mirror under a ladder.

Agreed. Actually I read that he has played the last 4 in the VFL since the shoulder injury, so he may be close

it will be super interesting to see if the hammy can cope with the higher speed of the AFL. I really hope he can do this (he deserves the break). I fear that on the first occurrence of a major effort during serious fatigue, he will suffer a recurrence.

i wonder if they monitor his output/gametime?

Good luck to him if so. Hope he actually gets through the game uninjured (keep him in a suit of armour, or something!)

Edit: seems it might not happen just yet:

This is his 5th year on an AFL List without every playing a senior game.

Anyone gone longer than that?

Not sure! I remember Paddy Steinfort was with Richmond for five years without playing a game. It’s a different case because he’s already played AFL, but this is Alex Johnson’s sixth year with the Swans since he last played senior level.

Johnson came to mind, but as you said he did play games.

There's been players who've spent longer periods on lists without playing seniors than Freeman, but none I can think of who have never actually made it onto the field for a senior game, ever.

Sounds like it could be next week.

We'll see if he's named this week when the teams come out tonight.

It would be heartbreaking he never played. I'll never forget the sight of him sprinting through the centre in that ill fated pre-season game. I was drooling at his speed & confidence. But alas.
We should consider ourselves lucky Shaz finally got game. He's become a vital part of our backline & looks like a guy who's played 150 not 28.
Freeman could still do the same.

They don’t want to risk an underdone player with zero senior games vs Carlton. It’s a must win game.

They play richmond the week after. A guaranteed loss no matter who they put on the park.

Lee Walker was on our list for 4 years after two injury interrupted years at WCE (although i think he managed one AFL game for every knee reco that he had in that time). How many years has Oxley been with us (think it might be his sixth season).

Oxley has played 31 games in that time though and Walker managed 16 games during 95-97

Even Tom Davidson managed 1 AFL games in 4 seasons on our list (2002-2005) and 1 gameless season at the Dogs.
