Perhaps someone might have said it in the earlier posts.
Come back for VFL Magpies. If any good, then... |

After 5 injury interrupted years, he finally got to play a few games.
Given the development that has been put into him, probably worth someone taking a punt and putting him on the rookie list. |

To the contrary, I think many are up in arms over the decision (was the general vibe listening to the talkback on SEN). I personally think the Saints did him wrong by dropping him after 2 games (in which he'd performed fairly). Perhaps there are other factors at play (maybe related to the problems Buckley alluded to when he left us?)
In any case, the reminder about his 'problems' almost ensures that we would not take him back. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing |

Who did we pick up for him |

He's had 3 years on decent coin at St Kilda. After only playing a handful of VFL games in 5 years, to drop him and then delist him after only 2 AFL games without giving him a chance to settle and show what he could do really should ring alarm bells unless the Saints really needed the salary cap space.
I'd me more inclined to enquire about Hugh Goddard and see if his body is stuffed or not. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

The pick we got (a 2016 second round pick) was traded, along with our 2015 second round pick to Brisbane for Aish.
In substance, Collingwood received a future second round draft pick from St Kilda in exchange for Freeman and swapped fourth round picks (we went up from 68 to 63). Then, we did a very complex swap deal involving Aish and Bastinac that involved our pick 26 and the future second round draft pick from St Kilda going to Brisbane in exchange for Aish. Meanwhile, there was also a shuffling of second and third round (or thereabouts) picks between us and North as part of the same transaction. |

Correct Stu - Bucks alluded to other issues. I's suggest the saints had his papers stamped based on VFL performance. There is talk of issues with GPS readings, kicking etc.
I actually think they "gifted" him 2 AFL games so he can say he reached the highest level. It was never about giving him a chance to prove himself. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

"But the real numbers were only known behind closed doors, where it became apparent to St Kilda’s coaches and fitness staff via his GPS readings that he was either incapable or hesitant to reach top speed.
His kicking, which was once a special attribute in his draft year, was clearly hampered by persistent hamstring complaints."
...
"But still there were concerns over his defensive capabilities, kicking penetration and inability to reach top speed. Only he knows the extent several crippling hamstring injuries impacted him emotionally. Was he scarred physically and mentally or just the former?" |

The one thing we don't need is more players with injury concerns.
