Asked several questions but the one on Brayden Seir was interesting

Bucks talked of his progress and more than injuries it appears he wasn’t committed to being an AFL player—his own admission apparently

According to coach mid last year he began to change all of that and this
got him an extension to his contract

Good luck kid

Might be about time Collingwood developed their own Attitude Identification Academy. That doesn't seem to be something we have been overly good at with a couple first picks of late.

It’s a task that may suit Nick Maxwell to instill some good ethics

I would have put it a little differently to Buckley from my point of view of watching him behind a fence. To me he doesn't invest enough in his teammates- if you don't call out enough and if you don't use hand signals, I don't see why a teammate would want to pass the ball to you. I see it as a major disadvantage for players to be recruited directly out of school footy, because at that level the good players can really do what they like, since they can get the ball without any real opposition. In the TAC and the state leagues players learn much quicker and are more able to cope with the transition to the AFL. Watts had the added pressure of being a number 1 draft pick. I feel sorry for Sier because to succeed at this level he needs to get past some pretty good players in Aish, Wills and Broomhead. If he was a KPP he could almost make himself invisible and people wouldn't expect too much from him until he reaches his early twenties. Because he already has developed his body people are wondering why he hasn't performed better in the VFL and putting pressure on the senior 22. AFL footy is a really tough gig and only a minority of the players on the lists make it. Sier is finding out the hard way what it takes to make it and it's right for Buckley to both defend him and at the same time put pressure back on him to work hard to succeed as an AFL footballer.

Talent does not always garantee success—-the mind set is front and centre in good progress

Many a talented player thought he was God’s gift to the team without putting himself out for the team

Then you have a Boyd or a Maxwell who a mature enough to know that they have to work hard to achieve

^ I'm not sure that's a good medium for hard-hitting questions.

Now here's a thought for a new hard hitting program on the website:

"Ten minutes with DTM"

Bring it on!

^ "Ten minutes" or "ten rounds"? (No helmets, no gloves.)

Nicksters, however, will no doubt be mightily pleased to hear the soft-hitting news, via A. Richardson, that Freeman has returned from training away from the main group (presumably doing rehab) and may be in the mix for round 1 (presumably of 2018).

At this rate, Nate should reach full match fitness by the time he's 83.

Are you suggesting he might break the 8:06 2k record for 82-year-olds?

Just out of curiosity, where did this "bucks talks" happen? Is there a link perchance?
