Picked up for drink driving overnight. Twice the limit.

Jordan De Goey caught drink driving in Port Melbourne. Blew .095. Has lost licence for six months. Will face club tomorrow. Statement from Magpies shortly.

...and people moaned when I said he should be traded last year. Hes not a bright boy (man). Now well get sweet FA for him cos of his off field indiscretions. I can overlook one or two stupid decisions from a young man, but cmon now. Should have cut our losses last year.

Someone with some tech nous put up the link last year when he promised to never let his team mates down again, re-earn their respect etc. I am actually angry at this prick. Derails his preseason again and disrupts the club. F*ck him! Immature and dumb. F*ck him!

Doubt we offer him a New Contract

I don't consider it a serious enough offence to sack someone (lying to the club is). He fckd up and he is lucky he didn't have a car accident or kill someone. Reality is he won't be the last person done for .05. Under New Vic laws he will have to have an interlock device fitted when he get's his licence back. He cops a bigger penalty than you and I as he is in the spotlight.

Hang on... NOT twice the limit, in fact, up to only a few years ago the limit was 0.08, so he's only just over that.

That's probably only 4 or 5 beers, not the smartest thing to drive but, just because someone can kick a leather ball doesn't make them super intelligent does it?! In reality I could drive better than half the clowns on the road with a BAC of 0.1... it's a stupid limit anyway.

A minor indiscretion, he's training the house down isn't he?

You don't trade a #5 draft pick who's still young and showing plenty of potential.

What's with this alcohol culture? Why does an elite athlete (which he'll surely become) drink alcohol at this time of year? Imagine if he'd had an accident and injured someone, or worse. What sort of mindset is this? He should be fined and suspended for a few weeks. It worked with Stevie J in 2007. Ok, De Goey was suspended last year but it was for something different. Someone at Collingwood or retained by Collingwood needs to counsel De Goey to get his head and mind right. This behavior is unacceptable.

Exactly Culprit!

I got done for 0.074 last year, felt fine. $600 and 4 points (1st offence in WA you don't lose it unless over 0.08 ).

It wouldn't be a pre-season without some Collingwood player getting into trouble, would it?

All of the above comment about drink driving is true. And any other player Id be more forgiving of. But after the crap this time last year this idiot owes his team mates and the club more. He should be off the grog and doing everything he can to make sure hes at his best. Has Totally let everyone who supports Collingwood down. Any punishment is going to make everyone suffer. He has to pay somehow though. I dont want him sacked because that will come back to haunt us but there has to be some sort of statement by the club to show that our culture simply wont accept this.

Skids, in Victoria, .05 and over you are done. Now even first offence you have to have an interlock device fitted. Out of pocket above the fine is the installation cost, monthly service cost and then a removal cost. He is going to feel the pain more than what expired last year. I hope the club forces him to use public transport and actually walk everywhere.
