For those that are interested in the thespian arts - saw a great play on Saturday afternoon called MOTH.

Two fantastic & versatile young actors, terrific script & wonderful direction. It's on for another week/10 days & not too pricey in one of the Malthouse's small & intimate theatres.

I'd love to go to the theatre some time. Might see if I can drag someone along to this.

Edit: read the blurb on the site, and it sounds pretty interesting! I'm putting it on my 'to-do' list. Smile

Not sure I could go to the "Mick Malthouse Theatre".
Pretty sure it would be run on gas lighting.

Yeah, I went to 'buy tickets' and they were all sold out. Didn't realise this was that big. I suppose I could still turn up on the night and hope that some people cancelled - where is the link to this 'wall' seating, Kingswood?

ohh, I think I get it, Malthouse theatre, seating along the walls, similar to the boundary?? Took me a while Rolling Eyes Laughing

My reply didn't make sense originally either! I meant seating like our play - along the outside - walls/boundary, nothing in the middle.

lol. I'm so dumb today.

Sounds great WPT. Theatre is definitely my favourite performing art. I reckon I'm a frustrated stage actor, to be honest.

It's a shame the tickets have gone.

I enjoy live theatre quite a bit & for many years have been going & taking my children. The Malthouse if you book a season (3 shows or more) you can get relatively affordable tickets.

The other places I go to a bit is La Mama /Carlton Court house etc. & Theatreworks in St Kilda. Some shows like preview nights can be just the same at a cheaper price - used to do this as a student & did this for one or two performances this year - Dario Fo's Elizabeth also at the malthouse.

My family has not quite cottoned on that I book the tickets based on when Collingwood is playing (that is, not on those days or nights) , days off from my shift work & moulah in the bank!!

LOL David, If you have to explain a joke it's not funny but I laughed out loud when I first saw it, so it wasn't that bad Kingswood.

It was a comment on MM's coaching and the team constantly going around the boundary. (perimeter, walls......)

Season 2 at The Malthouse is on currently & just booked some tickets. A theatre group called 1927 were really interesting about two years ago in a play caled "Between the Devil &the Deep Blue Sea". This season they're doing a show called "The Animals & Children took to the Streets".

Other plays include Kafka's "The Trial"

Below is a link to Season 2 - if anyone is interested:
