It features Elliot but also mentioned others —even Wells

Can someone maybe cut and paste as I cannot

May interest Nicksters

Thanks

I assume you mean this:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-02-15/pies-star-will-be-slowest-to-return-from-injury

Summary: Wells injured again. Elliott not back in full training yet. (Why am I not surprised?)

Yes K that’s the article—it heads up with Elliott then moves on to others

Didn’t mention Greenwood tho

And appreciate that K

There's also this one which is pretty comprehensive...

B.K. That SEN article was clearly more in depth and not only physical injuries
but assessment of players approach to their football

Geoff Walsh I would hope would use Collingwood media to tell us what he told listeners on SEN

In these early stages, I'm just happy we get more (from wherever) that what Balmey gave!

The news about Wells' achilles complaint is a definite worry, given his history of leg injuries and his age.

I was also a bit concerned at the comments regarding De Goey. Given his past problems I had hoped he would have been training the house down to prove his commitment to the team. If the penny hasn't dropped with him by now, then it may never do so. Hopefully, he hears these comments and responds by knuckling down harder than ever and delivers on his promise - "I won't let you down Bucks".

JDG concerns me as well especially when I have seen his best ,brief as it has been

A game a season or two ago against Geelong close to seasons end Bucks set him a tasks to take on the role of main mid —he put on a ripper game

He has the weapons but for mine not an incentive for war

If you want the good news Rudey, I was at training yesterday and spent a bit of time watching De Goey and he looks fit and itching to go. I would expect he could play all the JLT games. Alex Fasolo is another who surprised me. He looks much more advanced than I thought and could play in the JLT series as well. Jamie Elliot is further away than the others and I would be surprised if he plays any of the JLT games and must be questionable to start the first game of the season.

Saw JDG a few Saturday mornings back and had read he was not quite right for contested training

Well watching him getting out into simulated match training he looked excellent

May have sounded harsh and JDG prove me a no nothing please

The two seem like polar opposites personality-wise, but at least one Nickster has said they seem to be good friends. Are they kindred spirits with respect to their attitude to training, perhaps??

I think most of you make a serious mistake of confusing lack of effort with a lack of fitness. the latter usually dictates the former.

My understanding is that Wells came back really fit this year (as he was largely injury free), but with his age, I cant believe he isn't on limited workload (as an older athlete myself, I am only too well aware that injury becomes exponentially more likely when you are fatigued).

As for DeGoey, none of us have any idea what he can and cant do physically due to injury. How can you write that off to attitude. He is one of the very few Ferrari's we have in the garage. Let's not beat him up like a stock car!

I never hear of other clubs getting stuck into their stars for the way they "Practice"!

With Wells it's exactly what Walsh said about him. He wasn't on any restricted training program as far as I could tell and looked super fit. Now he is on a restricted program but hopefully plays at least one JLT game.

As for Jordan De Goey I object to people here calling him a star until he actually becomes one (coming in the first 5 places of the Copeland trophy will prove it for me).

I've actually often thought about this causal direction in consideration of Fasolo. So many people over the years have claimed he's lazy or worse. It's possible he's lazy, but it's also possible that his natural aerobic capacity is not as great as others'.
