People just buy and spend way to much money on Christmas.
You buy People Presents and they be Lucky to use.
Rather Save it for something you Need or for a Rainy Day

It's pretty much for Kids anyway.
Then people buy Presents and guarantee a Few won't be even Used or used once or twice. I remember that as a Kid that sum stuff I barley Used

Both my kids and grandson are all January Birthdays, no excuses.
I've just bought presents for the family who'll be here on Christmas day.
Mum and I went halves in a Juke Box for the pool room as a present for each other, I spent hours trawling op shops and pawn shops to find 2 vinyl records worthy of playing.

Tukky the poodle got a new lead with a softer breastplate for her daily walk. and kids get a top up for phones. I got a new pair of slip ons. I also got gout.

I don’t know if it’s a waste of money, but I know that something grave and rather beautiful has been lost from it. I still remember, at primary school, being told the story of the couple in the stable, the bright star in the East, the wise men coming with their exotic gifts with complicated names, etc. I was struck then by the strange poetry and innocent simplicity of it. Long after ceasing to believe in the metaphysics of religion, I still am.
The gaudy, debt-fuelled, hollow and joyless consumerism of Christmas today stands in such contrast, that we might as well replace it with a festival of shopping. Buy one holiday, get Boxing Day free.

Christmas is what you make of it.
I lost the religious symbolism decades ago, for me it's a day about family. Presents aren't the focus, except for kids, but it's about food and family. It's still a special day for me.

Presents is just for the Kids Really.
Use to love getting Presents as a Kid but as a Adult I am not Fussed about Pressies. Get Stuff when I need it

I'd be happy to go to bed tonight and wake up on Tuesday when it's all over.
I haven't bought any presents yet. Probably tomorrow. But only for the kids. I haven't bought Shelby a Christmas present in years. I buy her what she wants when she wants it all year, I don't see the point of buying her some token gift on the day.
Although this year I booked myself a holiday to Bali for next month. A few days later Shelby rang me asking where I saw the cheap flights because she wanted to come with me. I looked it up and found the same flights as me so she asked me to book it and she'd transfer me the cash. I told her not to bother, I'd pay and it could be her "Christmas present".
But the fact is it could have been anytime of the year and I'd always pay for her anyway.

You're robbing him of one of the joys of childhood IMO and sometimes you need to put aside your own personal feelings for the benefit of someone who as a child has no choice other than what his parents make for him.

It's not just about receiving presents DTM.
For me it's the joy of giving in particular to my mum who'll I'll always buy gifts for no matter who I land in the Kris Kringle.

i can always tell who i really like and who, well not so much, by how hard it is to buy them a present!!
