yeah ive got friends who have been to thailand for root canals, and boob jobs (the guys generally stick with the dentist work!) but its not for me! Hubby had all his top teeth out a few weeks back, his new ones should be here this week (thankgod, can you imagine? he cant talk properly and i cant hear properly!) havet got a bill yet, not game to ask! my dentist is pretty good though, very reasonable with the charges, lovely Indian lady, doesnt bullshit or do stuff you dont need.

if youve got pain David, get to the dentist, leaving it just makes it worse when you eventually get there.

^ I donít have any pain, thankfully, but Iím not sure itís a good idea to wait until I do!

To give you some idea of the magnitude of my irresponsibility, the last time I had a dental check-up was probably around the date under my avatar on the left. Embarassed I would have been going regularly if it wasnít for the dread of my bank balance being decimated (and yes, I know the longer you leave it the worse it gets...)

In the age of fluoridated water your teeth may be ok, but itís the hygienist who might get you. Dentists are extortionate but hygienists are ideological. They have no mercy. It could get very bloody.

I think free basic dentistry is the kind of thing a wise government should provide, rather than the self-aggrandising frippery in which modern government specializes.

I neglected my chompers for a fair while through my 20s and 30's until things started to go wrong in my early 40s. So I made sure the private health insurance covered dental and took the plunge.

Found a (very) good dentist, went in and asked if he could save them or was it time for falsies. He voted to save them and I'm glad I did. Would have spent $15k on them over the past 10 years including 2 root canals, couple of crowns and a veneer over the top ones, insurance has covered probably $9k of that.
