i don't think its certain at all that cox will play!

I think you will find that part of the agreement with Cox and his new playing contract with the club is to be give significant game time at AFL level. If the club didn't give him this assurance he was off to Brisbane.

Bucks has reflected on the last game win against Melbourne where we spoilt their party and has indicated that is an insight into our future game plan.

ridiculous!!

The year before crocker was the star of the game against the Hawks. hasnt helped him in the long run.

I'm fairly certain that Cox still has to earn his spot. He might. i am not saying he wont. I'm just saying that there are 15 guys who are assured of being picked if fit and cox isn't one of them.

I think the first game of the season is like any other game that follows the previous game. It's up to the other list players to replace the incumbents in the side, depending on preseason form and potential to add to the team. Cox is the incumbent so it's up to another player to force his way into the team at the expense of Cox. The reason Crocker didn't stay in the team last year was that he was injured in the preseason.

Key is.. the bye.

2017 up to R13 Bye:
- 7 losses 5 wins
- Losses in Melbourne: Dogs, Tigers, Saints, Bombers, Blues (only 2 of which made finals)
- Interstate losses: Giants (3pts)
- Interstate wins: Swants (1pt)

2016 up to R13 Bye:
- 8 losses 4 wins
- Losses in Melbourne: Saints, Demons (twice), Blues, Bulldogs, Power
- Interstate losses: Swans, Eagles
- Interstate wins: Lions

I predict we will be 6 and 6 before the R13 bye.. and end up 12 / 10. This factors in beating Freo, Lions, Blues home and away. If we can break even against the Tigers or Bombers that would push us towards finals.. A win against the Saints or Bulldogs would also go a long way.

Cox plays for mine. He's potentially quite the weapon as his confidence picks up. He's such a tall target, will win most taps, is taking more marks and kicking is generally neat enough.
