I reckon Stephenson will win the Rising Star award this year. Can’t remember the last time we had a winner. Was it Bucks?

Media have been reporting for a while that a 2-year contract extension is imminent.

It was never in doubt. A well deserved nomination of the round.

We've never had a rising star winner. Bucks won it in 1993 when he was playing for the Brisbane Bears.

Heath Shaw came close in 2006 finishing 3rd in 2006 behind Danyle Pearce and Andrew Raines, and Pendles finished 2nd in 2007 behind Joel Selwood.

Were you not terrified when he ran almost 25m without bothering to bounce the ball?

...ahhh, but he only took 6 steps and 2 seconds to do it....

Ahhh, E, you tempted me to go back and check... From my count, it was roughly 25m in roughly 4 seconds and 15 steps. (I judged distance according to the centre square being 50m long.)

That's correct, played in the EFL and has always had huge raps on him from Juniors all the way through.

The kids 5 goals were superb but what I found even better was his field play

Getting involved in transition that led to a goal—being aware of everything
around him and tackling

Looked like game 54 not 4

Great game by the kid, but what was absolutely priceless was the look on Bucks's face after goal #5.

Very pleased for Jayden and his family. At 188cm, and a level-headed and natural footballer, he may well fulfill the potential shown by another club great in Phil Carmen!!!.

Also, remember 12 months ago we were given a hard time because Carlton "had the better list" after having received more rising star nominations than us.

Thats up there with the biggest bullsh*t I've ever read with "blockbuster fatigue".
