If he self reported, does that suggest he either didn't know it was illegal and fessed up when someone told him?
Betting on a player to get the most possessions doesn't impact the outcome of a game, unless you keep feeding that player the ball when other better options are available.
Good kid who seemingly has done a dumb thing. I won't hang him for it.

I think the fact he self reported should be taken into account.
It's not as bad as the Heath Shaw case, as that was betting using inside info.
The HS reports he asked a friend to put the bet on and it was for the St Kilda game.
Collingwood won't comment until the AFL integrity unit hands down the fine/suspension, which according to the articles could be as late as Thursday morning.
Jaidyn is apparently very distraught. |

Interesting. No tribunal hearing? Or would we have to challenge it first? Would have thought he’d be entitled to defend himself.

I think that's all included in the investigation process. I vaguely remember the Heath Shaw case where Eddie argued them down a few weeks so Heath could play finals. |

Saw this on another site. No source though and may be incorrect so take it with a grain of salt:
Ok ok ok news just in
Stephenson was in a betting syndicate with friends & someone placed this bet on his behalf. So with that fact he approached the AFL with this info. Should result in a fine however the Club’s new stance on sports gambling I think they may just chuck him a week.

WOW!! Love your optimism Cam.Shaw got 14 weeks with 6 suspended. If he bet on a Collingwood game, expect the same.He self reported, which may go in his favour, but we're talking Collingwood here. |

i really really hope this is the true story,
if so kudos for his honesty,

seriously, these players need something to show them just how fricken lucky the are to have such an amazing opportunity, plenty lining up at the gate for a shot,
im bitterly disappointed, i just love this kid,
and worse, i didnt know til my not so darling hubby came home and spouted off about it asking me if im taking bets, and i had no idea, i thought maybe it was about the rumours around another player.
so i told him straight when the doggies finally fold, i wont be a c*** like him, because im a better person than that! now hes feeling very sorry for himself, and i intend to make him suffer!!
we got to come out and smash that $£$%^%%$ tam back to the dark ages!
