Phillips, as a future leader, if he goes well enough, was given this story to tell. Not a snowman's chance in hell a 2nd year kid would unilaterally suggest Suckley was ever "overbearing". Are you joking? Since the "Night of the long knives" (Copeland night 2013) no Magpie would dream of even mentioning Buckley, unless it was a full throated declaration of their undying love for Comrade Buckley & glorious 5 year plan! Little Red Book coming soon
You can believe that the guys all take every opportunity to talk about the Dear Leader as though he was the re-incarnation of Jock McHale all by themselves if you want, but given that he loses more games each year, and that half the side is on his hit-list (Ramma, Smith, Ox, Keefe, and a bunch of others), Ive got a lovely block of land in Sydney Harbour I'd love you to look at, Oh, sorry, I mean "on" Sydney Harbour of course. You lot will believe bloody anything! Did u go to the '15-'16 "Members Nights"? Did you read the "review"?
Oh, I seem to have misplaced my copy, can someone lob me a PDF of the "Review"?
"We were so fortunate that Nathan decided to stay on..."
Yes Eddie, of course we are, what with all those other sides fighting over him! It's almost miraculous he blessed us by staying! I guess it's the Upper Ferntree Gully under 12s loss!
Just don't
EVER
claim to put the club first.
You lousy pair of liars!

Hi Folks.
35 is clearly a "learned gentleman" to be able to quote so much latin.
But even myself, an uneducated moron, knows how to spell Buckley.
I sure hope Bucks and the players read some of the rubbish that gets written on this site. It could be a fantastic motivational tool!
Thanks for your help 35.
Regards.

Phillips was really waffling a lot in that interview. (You can listen to it online.)

Tom: get a right side, hit a target with your left side and lay a tackle or two in 2018 and stop living off your 2km pre-season time trials.

Some of you might want to have a go at Luigis about pulling a rabbit out of his hat but it it is a bit rich when you would struggle to pull a hair out your arse.

After that media snippet out came The Grind and at training front and fore most were the new coaching lads with Bucks appearing to to oversee
IMO it's in his and teams interest to give them authority to run training during the week--think he took too much of the load before

"There’s a good dynamic there and plenty of great strengths among the individuals in our footy program. I’ve delegated more year on year the last few years. The additions to our coaching panel have been really strong."
"If there has been any directive at the Pies, it has been to lighten up. 'Put a smile on your face and see how we go. Get the basics right and attack the year,'" Buckley said.
"That’s been our mentality. We have buy-in from all areas, (we're) enjoying our work and look forward to whatever’s coming.
"Do your job, do it the best you possibly can and do it with a smile on your face."

From the minimal time I saw Buckley at the Gold Coast training camp he looked a very relaxed coach.
The fitness guys did there thing with couple of the assistants helping
During the handball drills he sat back wandering between the groups watching and encouraging
He with Sanderson and Harvey then worked on the match simulation teams.
He didn't do any direct coaching during this time he let Sanderson take one side Harvey the other he only spoke to the group as a whole prior to the commencement of the match.
He watched on from the sidelines making notes and generally encouraging players.
At the half time break he spoke to Pendles and Adams together
The only other time he did any direct coaching was at the quarter time and 3/4 time breaks mainly aimed at mainly the 1st and 2nd year players.
He seemed very relaxed and comfortable with handing over the reigns to the other coaches
It's appears he's spoken to other coaches from different sports as I know many head coaches do very little coaching during the preseason. They prefer to set the agenda and let the assistants handle it as the belief is hearing the same voice to often can make players become immune to it.
Bennett the Broncos coach does very little in the preseason. He has always beloved he's better sitting back watching monitoring and encouraging players than standing out there yelling orders.
I'm glad he's willing to release responsibility to other coaches for the players to know he has trust in them only build more trust among th group

Lol 35 is most certainly a 'learned gentleman' of the highest order. Never lets anything get in the way of his personal agenda's.

This just caught my eye from the post above...
No, no, no! I would be aghast if players read this site. If I had my way, players would not have any social media involvement at all. No good can come of it. They don't need motivation; they need disposal skills. But that's not really the point. It can only do them harm, whether good or bad words are written about them.
Eddie, on the other hand, probably should read this site, so he has some idea about the feelings of the rank and file.
