It is being reported that we will have only one Friday night game. It is obvious that our performances and game style do not warrant being given that time, but it would be interesting to know what our Friday night ratings were compared to the preferred teams. I assume that the broadcast network has had a major hand in that decision. Strange times when the network wants to maximise its advertising revenue by not broadcasting our games.

That was complete crap. Wait for the facts

It was complete crap, but I did refer to "strange times". Who would have thought that a reporter could get something wrong?

As for waiting for the facts, are you joking? If that was a requirement, this board, and the football media, would virtually cease to exist.

The first 6 weeks aren't a walk in the park.

The two grand finalists, our bogey team in Hawthorn, GWS who'll be one of the flag favourites, Essendon who had a great trade period and Carlton who always lift against us.

Still if we strive to be the best you must beat them.

No excuses.

It's an easy draw if you assume that we're better than all the teams we play twice Razz

6 games in 30 days fairly early on is very testing and could be taxing for the rest of the year. Having said that, I like the attitude, "If you're good enough you'll win regardless"

I see we have to play Bulldogs at home at Ethihad again. Yet we play Fremantle at the MCg. And most of our big games are on Sunday 3.20 which means no Free to Air in SE Asia. mens me hitting the bar somewhere at midday instead of sitting at home with the dog.

So, will we be 1:5 or 0:6 after the Richmond game?

Assuming Adelaide and GWS will be the two best teams next year, we get them out of the way early. All done by round 4!

The Draw is irrelevant if you lose games that you should win.

Very well said, thing that has always annoyed me about this time of year is fans winging and moaning about the draw.

It comes down to your team......If the side is hopeless, well they could put us in the VFL and we would still finish bottom 4.....we get what we deserve.

Do you think the great Hawthorn side or Brisbane in the early 2000's or for that matter the Pies of 2011 complained about the draw?....no way they just rocked up and ripped apart who ever they faced, where ever it was.

Some people also need to use a little forward thinking.....this complaining that h Richmond only face x side that was in the top 8 2017 x many times is ridiculous"

My answer is ....... the side that are top.8 of 2017 are not going to be the same sides of 2018 ....some side fall away and will become the easy beats (not the band) of 2018. While some of the bottom 8 will become far stronger. By this logic if the AFL gave Richmond 2 games against each of this years top 8, next year some on here would be back complaining that Richmond got to play the "easy"teams of 2018 somehow and it is all "rigged".

At the end of the day it simply comes back to the original point that Culprit made.....if your team is freaking any good....your draw is meaningless as you don't care who you play, or when you play them, as they hold no fear.

Like i say in 2018 we get what we deserve. dish up garbage performances and we get garbage results ah la our match against Carlton round 7 this year.

That sounds like the same logic that 'percentage doesn't count'.

It simply isn't true, because it does, just ask melbourne supporters.

I agree with the sentiment but a good draw can be the difference, otherwise there'd be no discussion around an 'easy' or 'tough' draw.

Any details about Channel Seven broadcasts interstate? I live in QLD. I suppose we will get the weekday and Saturday night games, plus the Lions game on a Sunday.

Round 23 = Fremantle v Collingwood (Perth Stadium) - TBA

Good work Jezza, love the breakdown.

Shame to see us travelling back from Perth the week before finals, if we're in them that is. Still a shame the last game's over there even if we're not, be nice to see them off for the year (without having to travel to the other side of the country)
