For instance, yes. I remember the common response on here was mockery or opprobrium directed at the players and I suspect that some of those people would have taken a very different approach to this incident.

My thinking is if you don't throw the book at the people who disseminated fully nude photos of identifiable footballers, ruining their reputations and damaging relationships and careers then this bloke should be met with the same sanction i.e nothing. His employer however is allowed to hit him however they see fit, which they have done with a slap on the wrist for being a dick and the victim apparently received a payment to make her whole again in agreement with either the player/Richmond/AFL.

It's all a big nothingburger.

^ Excellent point Wokko. The damage to the reputation of the footballers concerned in the dick pics was arguably far greater than the woman concerned, given the degree of exposure and the lack of anonymity. Double standards are everywhere.

Im happy That the kid got a public belting. He deserved it. But we have strange standards as a society when it comes to notional gender equality.

Heartfelt. Nice to see the effects from a male perspective.

Read like a lot of moralising hand-wringing to me. The sooner that people realise the players they support are flawed human beings (who can even do cruel or thoughtless things) the better.

Too right mate. This applies to the other 17 clubs but not to the pies. Wink

What you say is true, but the media attention these incidents attract still take the gloss of a premiership, just like the Beams rape thing did for ours in 2010.
