I got home last week, had a days rest, then Jaxx was born Smile

All good, went with Kelly, my other 2 daughters and little Aria to meet Jaxx and see Tam in hospital before we all went for a feed at one of our local pubs. I only had 2 pints and felt a bit stuffed.... just getting over the 12 days away I figured.

As the arvo wore on, I started to feel more and more off colour. My whole body (but mainly my balls) started to ache. By the time I was ready to hit the hay, my nuts were hot and I felt pretty crappy... shit, I'm getting the flu. Which I thought was a bit strange as I'd had the flu vaccination 4 weeks earlier.

So, as my condition deteriorates over the next day and 2, my house full of loving women, take the piss out of me.. "man flu"... "men are so dramatic""... "you should try giving birth". The usual knocks from the ladies.

I lay in bed, shivering, sweating, not able to piss properly and feeling like a bag of shit. Finally four days later, my missus says "You better go to the doctor" and takes me down there.

The doctor is a tad more concerned about my condition and after a thorough examination is on the verge of calling an Ambulance to have me transported to hospital. He calls Kelly in... of course, she thinks I'm being dramatic.

I have blood tests and urine tests done before heading back home with some anti-biotics and an appointment back with the doctor at 7.45pm.

Turned out I had a severe infection of my kidney/bladder/urinary system and needed a penicillin injection and further anti biotic treatment.

It's not always "Man Flu" ladies!!! Evil or Very Mad

I would have thought the aching balls were the first clue. Shocked

Ouch. Hope you’re feeling better and you make a good point. This trivializing of men’s issues genuinely has its dangers in many areas.

Then again it is Skids. Wink

I always get a sore throat as my first sign of an impending head cold.

No teabagging involved though.

The pain should have been setting off alarm balls.

I hope you aren't walking in the park, naked, wearing an overcoat.

Again.

Problem is skids in my house anyway, when hubby has a cold he’s dying, walks around with peas on his head, even though we girls all have the same thing, but I can tell when he needs a doc and I make him go, he won’t take himself. I book blood tests for us every year and that’s how his cancer was found. After it came back one time he said I thought I had a pain in my hip. So now I nag him. But not when he has the flu, he doesn’t have a sympathetic bone in his body so he ain’t getting any from me!

Think the thread title should be changed to "the dangers of self diagnosis".
I'm not a bloke but would've thought hot aching balls wasn't a symptom of flu. Fever also indicates infection, not just flu.

Laughing

Yeah, you're right. But all the body aching and headache became the main symptoms pretty quick.
I should of gone to the docs sooner.

Honestly I would have thought 'flu' as well hot balls or not. The flu gives you some really weird symptoms. Glad you're all sorted

luvdids, for you it would have been an easy diagnosis: excessive exposure to testosterone in utero.
