There are too many options imo but it is what it is, 2 or 3 would have sufficed.

I can only form an opinon on what I see on ground. It ain't pretty. Something had to change. Whether it is enough change time will tell.

I voted no. But God I hope I'm wrong. I so want bux to succeed. Guess I'll turn up next year and see if there has been enough change. I dislike our style and method.

I'll also add this comment. Swans have been the 2nd best club in the comp for a decade. Yet no one copies their style. If nothing else it is consistent and puts them in contention.

Was listening to Dermie talk on SEN comparing Hawthorn vs. Collingwood
He said Hawthorn worshipped success whilst Collingwood worshipped it's stars.
Look like things haven't changed since Dermie played.

Interesting article in the AGE, specially in the comments below.

Seriously mods, what is the point of this thread, other than to begin another round of undermining our coach?

FFS, move on.

Nicks used to be a site for Magpie supporters, but now I'm not so sure. Rolling Eyes

<Mod edit: The alternative is that those so inclined will just continue to post threads when they are so inclined. Don't like people having their say, then don't come in here.>

IF you compare the amazing success of the piss and poop, that could be said about nearly any other team, also. How bout he analyse the deees, the team we beat, with seven stars out, with kids, and ruined their finals hope. Rolling Eyes

I liked "The Age" article; ie:

"We have seen the way this list plays for Nathan. He is a man of the highest integrity, he has compassion for his players on and off the field, he is uncompromising in his commitment to the role and we believe he is taking this group in the right direction,"

The whole playing process needed looking at and obviously the conclusion was that Bucks wasn't the primary reason for the poor performance. I am a Buckley fan and looking forward to seeing improvement next year - I just hope they get the restructuring process right.

Name a club that would have resigned him? I can only think of Richmond. But I have no option now but to hope again. So I will. Go Pies!

Goes to show the gulf between the thinking of supporters and a professional football club. There is no way this decision is not evidenced based

60 years of results speaks for itself. Individuals reign not the collective at Edwood. The Hawks know where their stars lie and that is behind the club not in front.

From what I've read, a key tipping point in favour of re-signing Buckley was the playing group. he had the playing group but the report apparently indicated the club had failed to support him appropriately.

revolving door in the director of football role wouldn't have helped that.

i think the evidence of this season is that Buckley can coach, and can change.

personally I also think that if there had been a top notch experienced candidate available, they would have taken the PR path and moved on, but there wasn't so they weren't prepared to go for another untried coach and instead give Bucks another 2 years and (hopefully) restructure things and put all the support in place.

I just hope that we can have a spell now from the constant posts and threads blaming Buckley for everything from global warming to Donald trump and get back to supporting the club.

Differing opinions and views should be welcome, fixated agenda driven spamming isn't.

You live in the past Pnc. Derm played for us and them, he would have great insight. As for the flags. Have a look at Essendon and Carlton and Geelong and Brisbane and a few others. We have won 2 in 60 years and even the Dogs have won 2 in less than 60 years. For such a glory club we have delivered f..k all. Stop and look objectively for a change.
