This is all a result of the disastrous Gabby Allan/Neil Balme fiasco, which was executed by Pert. I suspect, other heads will role, particularly in our recruiting area.

I also expect Bucks to get a multi-year contract extension once this season has ended.

This is all excellent news.

If he does... personally I'm going to stop watching football until he's gone. Voting with my feet.

Before you do can you attend the member's night. Ought to be fun listening to you talk. In fact if Buckley is still coach it should be one of the fun nights of the year listening to the speeches before we head to the bar and get sloshed.

If he wants a larger wage for being shit at his job, as a reward for ineptitude and lack of accountability, might we suggest entering federal politics?

Doesn't meet the entrance requirements. Politicians are lower than that.

Dumbarse Ch 7 reporting it as a "CRISIS at Collingwood" how in the hell is it a crisis if a guy wants to move on after TEN yrs in the one job?? Most jobs these days only last around that time, he wants to move on, big deal !

Great servant of the club, and wonderful to watch as a player for both ourselves and Fitzroy.

But seasoned businessmen to fill these chairs please; not former footballers.

Or heralded academics and cult-followed ska musicians could also execute the role with little fanfare in my opinion, with little bloodshed in the boardroom.

No names of course - you're the academic - you work it out! Surprised

I would have thought great timing after our brilliant win against Wet Toast. Maybe Geoff Walsh wants the CEO job and then we can bring back Gubby Allan as football manager.

I think it's a big loss.
It will get worse with the hysteria that is typical of the media and Collingwood supporters.

So long as we get Luke Hodge to replace one of our useless Assist Coaches, I can live with that. Razz

I can't believe for the life of me you people don't see whats happening here.
Really and you call yourself football supporters.
Ok let me explain this to you all very slowly
Eddie goes on "vacation" which in fact was just neddie taking some time away to write the report from the review
So Eddie gets back goes into Pert's office and says "look Gary as much as I like you I like others much more so the review will say all this mess is all your fault basically" so you can resign or when I release the review you will be sacked"
Pert takes the honourable way out resigns.
Eddie says it's a sad day in Collingwood history blah blah.
The media are in a frenzy for a couple with speculation on who will be the new CEO. Mean while Buckley is given breathing room to achieve results or at least try. Come round 21 we can't make finals so Buckley being a loyal Collingwood man and true to his word offers his resignation as head coach.
Eddie comes out and says its shame and Nathan shouldn't be lost to th club and he will be kept around in some capacity.
Mean while Neville nobody is appointed senior coach
Days later Eddie announces the search for a new CEO is over and introduces Collingwoods new CEO none other than Nathan Buckley.
The role of CEO will be revamped as the review recommended to included all coaching, training, tactical decisions, game planning and match day moves of the senior football team. The new head coach Neville is held accountable for any football issues involving the senior side.
If after a couple years the senior side still isn't doing well Neville is let go and another Barry brought in under Nathan's guidance.
It's a perfect scenario. Buckley still coaches but someone else gets the blame it's a win win
Sooner or later we will win a flag at which time Eddie will dedicate to Buckely and his tireless efforts over many millenniums
