Although, on second thoughts, perhaps we could take a few high-pick KPDs, stockpile them and then - because some other teams seem to value KPDs - we could trade them all out at once and get everone's mids. There's a plan.

What's the use of drafting a KPD if they spend all their time playing in the VFL?

Agreed Surely this week with a massive Eagles forward line McLarty or Keefe should have come in.

Keefe is ready, McLarty is not when I've been watching the VFL. However Macca is developing well & I think we have a player. As with Kirby: hasten slowly, it'll be worth it.

^^^ Well, you'd hope so. The teams, as named, would put Goldy up against Kennedy. Much as I love Goldy, that's a bit too much to ask. I'm not sure who will take Darling. Reid is too slow for that task but then Toovey was too small and always pantsed Darling because he hasn't been much of a competitor over his career. Maybe Goldy could take him? Darling will do the odd brilliant thing whoever he's on but Goldy will make it hard for Darling and that's definitely not what Darling likes.

The only way Adams could be Pendlebury's "successor" would be if they let him wear number 11.

My bad I completely missed Goldie so yes his the best match up for Darling means we can leave Reid forward and no need for Cox
I think you will find they have ear marked Adams as the skipper in waiting a while ago but this will all change with a new coach next year. I would assume we will get a completely different look leadership wise with a new coach who has different opinions on players and leadership qualities

Adams oodles leadership to anyone in his presence so I really wouldn't expect anything to change under a new coach. The other obvious candidate for our next captaincy is Treloar who is fighting his own demons out on the field with his struggles of his groin issues. One of those two together with Moore will be our next captain and whoever is our coach will be a spectator with minimal input to the decision.

Agree. Thought that GCS was his best game this year.
I will be interested to see what our back six looks like without him, given that we have brought in two mids.

Sam Mitchell being " rested " helps us. He dines out on Collingwood.

Sadly, despite his obvious talent and footy smarts, the kid is simply too slow and lacks lateral movement in his knees.

Wow just wow
Scharenberg out they mustn't have rated his 21 disposals at 89% with 9 marks last week in artrocious conditions very highly.
If the kid lacks confidence it would be because no matter how good he plays he seems to just be dropped every other week.
Yet we persist with players with much less skills and natural ability
Watching live last weekend he stood out with his ability to read the ball coming inside our defensive 50 and make the right decision to stay on his man or leave and help a team mate. He spotted up team mates with 25/30m passes continually when many others couldn't kick it 10m accurately (yes the weather played its part)
Defies belief really
If he's struggling with his knee still fair enough I could understand giving him a spell after a few weeks to safe guard him but he seemed to be moving well last Saturday.
Those who say he isn't quick are right but he is no slower than Langdon and is far better in the air and reading play than Langdon and far superior kick.
Maybe it's balance maybe the coach just doesn't rate him (which would explain a lot because the players the coach seems to rate highly and get games no matter how bad they play are still in the side)
Only 6 agonising weeks to go then we will get a new coach with new ideas and hopefully a eye for players with skill and let those who don't play well b dropped to the VFL

He's about half as good as Langdon, so he'll probably never be more than Vice-Captain.
