Please remember Sumich kicked a point, and not a goal, after the siren in the 1990 QF. He played an important role in our drought-breaking premiership.
We owe him one.

The difference between a sumich, dew, barker etc "untried" compared to a Buckley,hird or voss "untried" is the amount of years spent as an assistant coach.

You would have to go back to the 80's to find someone coaching for the first time ever that did well (Malthouse, lethal)
