He is spot on. I have watched a few other teams this year. I haven't seen the wreckage we produce with kicks with others.
It's not just kicks how many handballs go to players already under pressure and then they get smashed in the tackle.
It's recruiting, it's development, it's the wrong plan for the type of players on our list.
6 out of 10 times we go through the corridor we lose the ball, maybe 1 or 2 times we construct a score, it's pathetic risk/reward. Essendon went to town on our turnovers and scored the most heavily of any teams against us this year (It wasn't the most turnovers we have done this year but was the highest score we conceded from turnovers).
I said in another thread we actually constructed a couple of really good goals using the flanks and going down the line and coming inside 50 with the deep kick to the pocket or hot spot. We were also in a better position to defend when we turned the ball over as players were already on 1 side of the ground.
FFS lets get back to basics for a while and forget this corridor crap (as I described it at the G on Sat) _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Remember that first quarter against the swans?
They can do high possession... With skill... Just haven't been able to since.
The built up pressure of not getting results with all there hard work has just broken them |

First quarter against Swans and Giants there was hardly any pressure on the ball carrier. More times than not that high skill falls apart when teams up the pressure factor on us. Melbourne 2nd half against first half. Problem is we give up scores to quickly from turnovers that offsets when we manage to play well and build up a bit of a lead, we can lose it quickly. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

I think this is crap. The observation from the weekend is an obvious one. We didn't have a great game and haven't been great since the bye. Before that we were ok by foot in the context of the competition which the stats at the time supported.
This is another example of an ex player who is too lazy to do some homework and can make a living commenting on edit's from the game someone else has done to justify a pay check.
Yep, we need some targets, we need a tall. Captain obvious come on down _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Rate Barry in top five excellent kicks and decision making at Collingwood |
It's all about the decision making with Bruzzy, it will come. |

Agree, like I said earlier the only thing of interest in that piece was the stat highlighting our drastically diminishing effort in midfield.
An 8 year old could have written the rest. |

Yep, comfortably
Its a very simplistic comment that he has over emphasised for effect to earn relevance and a pay check.
What he said
"BRISBANE triple premiership great Jonathan Brown believes Collingwood is the worst kicking side he’s ever seen labelling the club’s ball movement out of defence “an absolute disgrace”.
There are 11 sides in the comp with a worse Disposal Eff (6 top 8 sides)
There are 9 sides in the comp that have had more "clangers" (6 top 8 sides)
There are only 2 sides in the comp with more inside 50's
We are not the worst kicking side this year let alone ever.
Have we got problems ? Absolutely.
This sort of simplistic view by a so called expert is rubbish. He should be smarter than that so I say hes just lazy. Someone else puts together vision of which Maynard features twice and bang - Browns eyes light up - easy money, headlines for me, Im relevant.......
When we strung some wins together all the commentary was on how we were taking more risks, hitting the corridor by foot and moving the ball quicker. ( Often it was Maynard nailing those kicks).
People want to be sheep then jump on the popular narrative and shout as loud as you can. Seems to be trend. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"
