Would love to see Kirby given a run. Bring in Brown & Daicos too.
Time to string some wins together.

I expect another loss now. Seems like the players gave up yesterday and they sense that Bucks is cactus.
Wills and Kirby must come in. I'd also bring in Keeffe.
In: Wills, Kirby, Keeffe
Out: Cox (never to return), Greenwood (susp.), Treloar (inj.) |

Need to maintain our bottom 4 position.
Rest Treloar and send him in for surgery if required, play the kids and trial players in different positions.

Happy to lose to the Suns. W haven't built a rivalry with them so there is no emotional attachment to the result.
So, would rather lose to (i) expedite the coach removal and (ii) ensure we get the best draft pick. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

You may be right about Cox, but I spent most of yesterday tearing my hair out at the fact that we would not sit him in the square and bomb it high to a point 20m out. Instead he lumbered about like a light tower upfield of CHF, watching the play go around him. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

That's all well and good, but what are we going to do for a ruckman when Grundy goes back to Adelaide??? |

I was there and watching closely.
I don't think this was his fault on many occasions.
Fas and to a much lesser extent Jamie were either too slow/selfish/lazy to get the hell out of there themselves so he could take the position.
With more confidence and seniority I can see a lot of improvement to come with Coxy, particularly leading patterns and being in the right spots.
Be fascinating to see how our new coach sees his potential and development path.
I think his contract status is in the air.
Personally I have always been tentatively bullish.
Nothing I have seen this year weakens that hope.

It's pretty sad when winning isn't the first objective. Play the kids. Drop anyone who won't be part of our next push. Rest any injured stars and get surgery if required.
Start developing some good simple plans for the kids to follow. |

Pies match committee, it's time to play the kids.
INS:
--------
Kirby - simply must come in.
Wills - we've been getting killed in clearances in the last couple of weeks.
Aish - played well in the reserves. Give him some time in the guts, swapping from half-back.
Brown - smart player. Let him develop in the 1sts.
Daicos - time to debut the kid.
Ramsay - play him as a mid, in Treloar's role, and swap him with Aish at half-back.
OUTS:
--------
Cox - drops easy marks, and very soft for a 7ft'er. He's got some work to do over the preseason to gain power and strength.
Adams - his kicking is killing the team. Something needs to be done, instead of sweeping it under the carpet. Over to you coaches...earn your money for once.
Smith - badly out of form. Needs to find a yard of pace over pre-season.
Thomas - no hurt factor
Greenwood - tribunal will give him a couple of weeks for being a Pies player.
Treloar - injured
Game Notes:
--------
- Take the game on and take risks.
- JDG, Wills, Pendles at most centre clearances.
- Grundy vs Witts will be an interesting battle to see. Grundy needs to maximise his ground advantage and spread like a midfielder.
- What's not to like with a forward line of Daicos, Reid, Kirby, Elliott, Fas, WHE. We play to our strengths, meaning the ball comes in low and fast to the forwards. No slow, high balls.
- Don't care if we lose. Show something Pies. Throw some punches. Most Pies supporters just sat there against the Dopers just watching a team going through the motions...was a sad sight to see. |

The Adams would be nice but not going to happen. Just like Shaw had Jason Wild Buckley's pet is Adams. Also combined with the fact that the brains trust down at Collingwood have probably got him in the top 4 of the Copeland at this stage. _________________ Magpie Jumper Gallery:

When people like Dave post Go Suns, you know that Buckley's position is no longer tenable even for another week. Our campaign for the 2017 flag ended when we lost to Essendon. The campaign for the 2018 flag begins this coming weekend and that's why Buckley's tenure as coach of the CFC needs to come to an abrupt end now for the sake of the CFC. Members like myself are asking whether we should commit for another year. Memberships aren't cheap but I'm willing to pay the price provided the CFC provides me with the assurance that they will do what is necessary to launch an assault on the 2018 flag. I'm assuming myself and the CFC are on the same page which is about winning premierships. If I'm mistaken in that belief and see no indication from the club that they want to change, then painful as it is, I will be reviewing my membership. |
