Tom Lynch (Gold coast) out of contract and restricted free agent 2018. Surely he will be sick of playing for a nothing club by then. I'm hoping we go hard for him. _________________ People forget that our last premiership was only 2010 and rebuilds take some time. 2018 we play finals again. |

Trade the fringe players not best 22. Besides in the free agency era we have other options that won't cost us trades or draft picks. _________________ People forget that our last premiership was only 2010 and rebuilds take some time. 2018 we play finals again. |

If there are no talls by the time our pick comes up, do we have a choice? |
Your joking surely "here's Johnny"? |
Well, I don't exactly want this scenario to unfold; just saying it wouldn't surprise me if it was floated by the managers/media around trade time...
But if, and i do say IF, we could get him on the cheap - do we go for it? _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

I'd take Mitch McGovern - according to Mark Stevens we are into him big time. He was pretty good yesterday when they were behind us - kept them in the game, then we all know what he did at the end.
Sam Reid? Body might not hold up - always seems to get injured.
Casboult - absolutely would take him. We need a get out of jail target - he'd be ideal. |

You really couldn't see him leaving the Cows? Walker and Jenkins take the best two defenders each week, with Lynch shit kicking the third.
McGovern has got it made there; he's be nucking futs to leave a team which might very well pull off the premiership this season. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Spot on - I'd be shocked if he left to become the focal point. Walker and Lynch make him a better player for sure. |

Not sure, I can think of an extra two hundred thousand reasons that might influence his decision.
I think the real hurdle could be the Eagles. Surely the chance to go home and play alongside his brother and Josh Kennedy ( and still with a pay rise ) would look very inviting for him. |

Geoff Walshe on Collingwood website in his words said on Jake Lever
If he were available "Gee he would be good for us"
My belief is it's "Leave no stone unturned for any hi quality player who can
be with us (Lever only 21 and 50 games) approach"

If we get a key back play Ben Reid as FF in 2018 and we chase a key forward next year. If we get Sam Reid Ben could go back again in 2018.
I like the setup forward we had last week. Reid FF, Darcy roaming at CHF and Elliott just being Elliot. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Get Lever & Sam Reid & we'll b ok, we then have options on were ee play Moore & Ben Reid.
Also, I think Goldie can still give us another year or two. |

Not sure how reliable but SEN reporting that former club chief executive Brian Waldron says out of contract defender Jake Lever is destined for Collingwood in 2018. He states "My understanding is he's only going one place, they're black and white - Collingwood"
"The northern spy says Jake Lever's going to go to one club and it will be Collingwood, and he'll tell Adelaide when the seasons over he wants to go to Collingwood"
If true great news and again emphasises Collingwood as a destination club and I'm sure the young talented list and Nathan Buckley as coach is part of the attraction. _________________ People forget that our last premiership was only 2010 and rebuilds take some time. 2018 we play finals again. |
