Kicked two, was pretty invisible for most of the game. By no means an automatic call up to the first team.
Coxy was great today though with two goals and a few strong marks, as was Phillips who kicked three and did a lot around the ground. Both look like AFL standard. Daicos has lots of poise and makes the right decision nine times out of ten. I think he'll be a good player.

I don't understand why Phillips didn't slot straight back into the team after missing the match against Essendon due to illness.

Should have given him a game 3 weeks ago when he was running hot. That is generally when you try and debut a kid.

I think Bucks was right not to play him. He's not quite ready for senior footy, but if he can keep developing as he has so far, we should have a beauty on our hands for next year. Sometimes, we supporters need to be a little patient and trust the coaches who understand better than us where players are at. Can't wait to see the Kirbinator unleashed on the MCG when he gets his chance. |

| No untried player is ever quite ready. He needs to play to have tasted AFL for next year, for the future of the club. There is absolutely no reason not to play him in front of Various average players who will not improve. This period of 2017 should be about planning for 2018 on field. |

Agreed not only because it's my view too as noted here ad nauseam but I (like others) have seen him play. He is being developed quite nicely atm.

I just hope that Kayle keeps banging on the door. It is just a matter of time as he clearly has the ability to play AFL.
