The incident that broke me was in the third quarter; he has the ball at half forward and under no duress grubs a kick along the carpet after one of our forwards had his opponent done cold on the lead. Port took the ball up the other end for an out-the-back goal.

Two goal turn around and game over, and yibeddy yibedda, that's all folks.

Yes it was shite but he did make a good long kick to Fasolo earlier in the game. I think it takes time for players with long term injuries to adjust to the pace of the game. He looks slow in the mind but I think we should give him time as we are not going to make finals this year.

We really need guys like Langdon Scharenberg Ramsay De Goey Aish to step up over the next year or else our list is in even worse shape than I think

Agreed; that raking pass to Fasolo in 2nd term was a ripper.
It simply had to be after he torched Dunne on the lead by the flank.

I'm still angry at Cox, because it was his SHITFUL tumbling grubber kick across the ground in WA last season that caused Langdon's ankle to get trapped under him in the contest; and here we are a year later...

First out is Langdon, 2nd out Langdon, 3rd Langdon and 4th Langdon.

Jeez, the guy misses a year of footy and two weeks into his return he is completely under the gun. watch closer pal. Like Pendles (but not quite as much) the game slows down when he has the ball. He is a gem and just needs to get his touch back. At least acknowledge his vision.

No. You listen pal. Langdon was a great first year player, but has gone backwards at a rate of knots. He has no awareness, slows down to a walk when he does get the ball, and continually makes poor decisions. Have a look at that 3rd up he "attempted" leaving Gray at the back of the pack. Unforgivable.

He plays like he's high on something. Has no intensity or urgency whatsoever.

Another peerless performance from Coach Clueless and merry band of ball butchers.

Surely, this is the final nail Clueless' coaching coffin.

His legacy will be a dwindling membership, and a generation spent in the football wilderness.

But everything is OK. It will all tun around soon. We've just had a bit of bad luck.

Yes I forgot about him.
Maybe he took one too many of whatever he was on.
But at least he was a bit interesting.

- Port's body size around the ground and height down back was a mismatch. Broomhead, Aish, Brown etc are too slight and rarely stick tackles.

- I'd perhaps have tried Maynard on Gray. Gray is good when given time and space, but Maynard may not have been left behind for body size nor speed. Gray outworked Langdon and Goldsack at times

- Reid should have been tried up forward earlier. Dixon or any other tall were not having an impact up forward for them, so our structures should have been changed. We were simply a tall too short again today. Kicking on top of Fasolo's head against Clurey was a waste of time

- Didn't work hard enough either. They ran the ball forward. We kicked sideways and tried to work the ball forward and too often missed targets or kicked on top of our small/mid-sized forwards heads

- Grundy was solid around the ground, but they beat us in the ruck, particularly Trengove's clearance work

- Crocker is not the answer. Not quick on the lead. Not a great set shot kick, not strong in his tackling.

- Too many mids in our team/list. Pendlebury/Adams/Treloar/Sidebottom get plenty of it most weeks. But guys like Greenwood/Crisp/DeGoey/WHE/Aish/Phillips/Broomhead is too many additional midfielders. Need a tall or two. These guys are playing permanent forward or back most weeks but two less, replaced by genuine key position players would make quite a difference to our structures.

- Not sure Sam Reid is the answer, if he is as vulnerable as his brother is physically, but perhaps worth a play

That -6.9% must have been his pox grubber in the first quarter across half back that got them rolling on the scoreboard.

Love to see Langdon's. Must look like Mitch Marsh's batting average...

Langdon 79.2%

FFS Donny! What website do those stats come from?
That would imply that perhaps 19 of his 24 possessions actually hit the desired target?
Was it the same game I was watching? Surprised

A grass grubber to the general vicinity of the intended target or a shank to a neutralised 1v1 is considered an "effective kick" by Champion Data.

You take the stat for what it is...

On the bright side, we should be leading the nominations for the All-Australian Turn-over team.

Sadly it was the Collingwood we've come to expect today.

We won plenty of ball and had the 6 highest possession winners on the ground (yes you read that right 6!) and yet I'm left wondering where all these possessions went and what benefit they provided?

It was clear 5 minutes into the game for me we weren't going to have the speed or class to win and Port clearly came with a game plan to nullify our ability to move the ball through the centre corridor as we like.

First of all Gray is a super talent and when he's on has wrecked many a defender in his career.

Both Langdon and Goldsack were his opponents today though I would have thought Maynard and Goldsack would have been the more obvious match up of those available.

If people think the slower and less physical Scharenberg would have done better they're misguided IMHO.

Langdon finished with 24 disposals and while he certainly had his poor moments he had some good ones also and it was still an improvement on his first game back.
