The contest ends once an animal is hurt. Not a fight to the death.
If you're in an area over run by feral pigs and use dogs to hunt and control them, not a bad way to train the dogs and see which ones can do the job.
Better to test them in a controlled environment than in the wild with no experience.

Indonesia sentences gay club workers to 2-3 years in prison
JAKARTA, Indonesia — An Indonesian court has sentenced 10 men arrested in a raid at a gay club and sauna to between two and three years in prison, an activist and a relative of one of the men said.
They were among more than 140 men detained after the raid in May on what police said was a sex party at the Atlantis spa in Jakarta, the Indonesian capital.
Police have raided gay clubs and private parties, charging those arrested under Indonesia’s broad anti-pornography laws and forcing some men to take HIV tests. Aceh, a semiautonomous province that practices Shariah law, publicly caned two young men in May for gay sex.

Indonesia's medical guide lists homosexuality as 'mental disorder'
JAKARTA: Indonesia is about to publish a medical guide where it has listed homosexuality as a mental disorder, the Health Ministry said on Friday.
According to the guide, lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transsexuals community are at risk of mental disorders owing to their sexual orientation, the Ministry's Director of Prevention and Control for Mental Problems told Efe news.
The Indonesian Parliament is currently discussing an amendment to the penal code to criminalize homosexuality in the country.
Homosexuality is legal in Indonesia, except in the Aceh province, in Sumatra island, where the Islamic Sharia law is in force.

Well, the whole concept of “mental disorder” is behaviour that’s socially defined to be so, so it is not necessarily wicked of Indonesia to classify homosexuality as such. It is silly, certainly, since it cannot be cured and it is harmless behaviour, but then, so are many other mental disorders. It’s quite conceivable that a preference for, say, unsafe sex could be defined as a mental disorder, too. There is a problem with the whole concept, and our modern credulousness about psychology’s pseudo-medical babble is at the root of it (food addiction, anyone ?).

| On a positive note, Skids, while they’re focussed on dealing with homosexuality as a mental disorder they aren’t as focussed as they might otherwise be on contemplating the question whether conservativism and racism are mental disorders. |

You're attacking a country – and calling them hypocrites, no less – for pathologising homosexuality in exactly the same way it was pathologised here up until the late 1980s. Somehow I don't think you would have been out on the barricades protesting against that back then. So what's your agenda here: have you suddenly become a big supporter of gay rights, or only when it gives you the opportunity to feel superior to other countries?

I never have mentioned making it illegal.
I have, as you have pointed out, been critical of the movement trying to push it down our throats, no pun intended
