In a game of some pretty hot footy, he made a couple of little fumbles but it would be criminal to hang him out to dry for this.

I thought he was solid, linked up nicely a couple of times but above anything else he certainly looked at home playing AFL footy.

He certainly plays ahead of Blair and Crocker at this stage for mine.

The highlight of Brown's game for me was an effort he made in the final term.

In a pack in the middle, while Adams, Grundy, Treloar and PEndles looked on standing on their feet, he made 3 attempts to get the ball out, and laid 2 tackles, all in one pack and eventually forced the ball forward (where Treloar tried to kick it but was tackled).

He's a smaller version of his old man, they are absolutely crazy with their attack on the ball.

And to think there's another Brown son coming through too. And he's bigger.

I hope they don't drop Cal for the Port game, give him a few games in a row, he's a massive part of our future.

Callum Brown took a while to get going, but by the end of the game I'm convinced we've gut a good one here. He's an absolute animal!

Threw his head back when not taken high, and got caught a few times, but as he gets used to the pace and intensity I think he's going to be a gem.

He's fearless like his dad. I like.

Plays very similar to Caleb Daniel.
More a link in the chain than a finisher or line breaker.
Once he gets used to the tempo, he won't make to many bad decisions with the ball in hand. Tackles well and has very good awareness around him.
I hope they give him more time in the seniors, if for no other reason than to prepare him better for next year.

Unhappy to lose --damn sure and heat applied was not disimilar to September.

But the future when it comes our time Callum will be a leader out on the paddock

Sure as someone said a little fumble but noticed
the skipper do same once

Great start to a minimum 250 games

You could see he WANTED the ball. Great sign. Too many players make it to the seniors and just look timid when the ball is near. I hope he plays at least 5 games for the remainder of the season.

Old shool saying fits this kid to a tee
"It's not the fog in the fight
It's the fight in the dog

Blair plays we are going backwards. Just no point keep playing kids. We gain so much more from Brown playing on a big occasion like that.

Agree. Playing Blair is sending us Backwards.

Brown has a Future and Blair does not

Congrats to Callum.

However...now we need to see young Daicos and Kirby because they have that bit of spark and flair in the forward line.

Agree that effort was inspiring - the kid will make it.
He is a courageous, a quicker thinker, and mover in tight, and when he gets in tune with the pace of the game will be a very very good player.

We have definitely found one in Callum.

As far as first games go, it wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. had a dip, would be better for the run, I'd give him another go unless others are available.

Interesting his younger brother is in this years draft, bit taller than Dad.

Re Stui's post, any word about how Callum's younger brother is shaping up, what position does he play, how has his TAC form been and are we likely to draft him ?

Seriously, some of the negative posters on this thread need to get a grip on just what this kid and others go through on the biggest day of their lives.
They go out numb with the fear of failure and all they want to do is to get their hands on the footy for the first time and do something with it.

To pass any negative judgement or comment on this kid ( physical attributes aside ) after just 120 mins of senior footy, is ridiculous.
He may make it, he may not but for now, let's just enjoy another father son debut in black and white.

Watching his attack on the footy is awesome. Imagine after 2-3 more pre-seasons.

For sure the Kid wants to be there. His attack in the forward 50 was great , also nice to see him tackle mr smug Bernie Vince hard into the ground.
