^Didn't North force our hand on him on draft night?

Yeah, they forced us to use our next pick.

Yeah, they forced us to use our next pick.

I doubt it was gamesmanship on North's part really, young Callum is well regarded and they have every right to make a bid.

After all, his old man is now an assistant at North.

A big game for his first game on the big stage.

I hope this his first of hundreds of games wearing the Black & White.

Best of luck to the young man and I hope all his dreams of being a Pies champion are realised.

It's a big game tomorrow and let's hope we beat the tiffs and get the points so that we can attack the second half of the season with momentum and self belied

Congratulations to Callum on his long-awaited debut.

I've noticed that the club over the years hasn't been afraid to start debutants in big matches, so I'm happy that this tradition continues.

Thought he was fantastic today but hardly gets a mention in the post match comments. A lot of what he does doesn't get noticed. We works in close and is quick with his hands. Needs to work on his kicking, but otherwise no weaknesses in his game. Just need to persist with him.

that is interesting that you saw it that way. i saw a kid who was not quite ready. as to be expected he was brushed off the ball too easily due to his youth. looks the goods, but if judging the team purely on output i thought he was an obvious weak link today. will be better for the run but i think his best football will not be until 2018.

11 disposals (mainly quick handballs) is hardly "fantastic", but it was a good debut nonetheless.

Yes Was a passenger today with negligible impact, but that's allowed in your first game or two. Looked way too light to me. Give him another game and time.

I thought it was a huge mistake to play Callum today.
The big bodied melbourne players completely flattened him.
Another mistake by Bux as we should have had Kirby in for his X factor and body type.
Callum had the tank over Kirby but Kirby had the strength and goal smarts.

Kirby is not ready yet to play AFL. Callum was fine today. Everybody complained about Maynard's first 30 games. Now nobody is complaining.

yep KK is a fat bastard.
But he is our fat b....d.
I am not having a go at Callum.
He may end up a great player.
But today was a final football day.
And bringing a skinny kid out today was a mistake.
We had enough skinny players without adding Callum to the list.

As far as first games go, it wasn't great but it wasn't horrible. had a dip, would be better for the run, I'd give him another go unless others are available.

Interesting his younger brother is in this years draft, bit taller than Dad.
