Rumours have been flying left, right and center all year and you don't know which one to believe. My mail came days after our Hawks win 6 weeks ago. Prior to that game (mid week) Bucks was told his contract would not be extendered further than this year. The board made it clear they would be after an experienced coach. First preference was Roos but has rejected the offer. My mail is that Collingwood will be throwing the kitchen sink to get Clarkson on board. If true, I'm all for it.
Who knows what the hell to believe but one thing is for sure...
A change will be coming... |

A change will be coming.....Can't wait.
Bux is a dead man walking and I hope Ed goes with him.
That will leave only Hine who needs some sort of different role.
And yes Pert needs to go as well.
That will make a real change so a new future can be built. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

So stating the obvious here on that presumption. I'm pretty sure that any deal involving Roos, would in the long run be more about rebuilding the clubs culture and our recruitment strategy, with a mind to installing a new long term coach, than specifically installing himself as our long term coach.
I think the real question is 'who will that be'? |
My understanding is a 2 year deal, which effectively makes him a handover/caretaker coach. Who they appoint underneath him will be important as he'll be doing a lot of the motivation and training I expect. Goodwin did all but match day in Roos final year at Melbourne. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

I have no objection on Eddie staying on, on the proviso that all club dealings are made objectionably and through proper process. No captains calls.
Eddie is allowed to make mistakes, he's only human, so this only becomes a real problem when there is no one to account to as has been the case for a number of years. Eventually he will have to prepare the path for his successor but that time is not now. _________________ All Aboard!! Choo Choo!!! |

If I was a struggling AFL coach and the board told me I was safe I'd SOOO take their word for it. |

greetings, so long as your not a troll, welcome. we have had a number of trolls on here lately, infested with them, all knocking the crap out of the Pies, all obviously support other teams. _________________ Poverty exists not because we cannot feed the poor, but because we cannot satisfy the rich.

Getting Roos is NOT the answer. As director of coaching - Yes, I'm all for it, but not as senior coach or caretaker coach in waiting.
If Dew was to put his hand up with Roos as his mentor, then by all means lets do it ASAP. _________________ Ohhhh the premierships a cakewalk for the good old COLLINGWOOD |

I'd be happy for Roos to replace Walsh and become Director of football, working with Bucks. I would not want him as our coach. |

I am not convinced Roos will be there next year particularly after his comments re recruiting yesterday. You don't make public statements like that about your future employer. .IMHO. _________________ Toby for President |
