Well they say that the 5 stages of grief start with:

1. Denial: No we are on the right track! Injuries have curtailed us the last 3 years, Hine is better than what Thompsoc says. The media are wrong we are fine!

2. Anger: gee the umpires and the injury gods have killed us for years, we just need some luck with the bounce of the ball and all things external and we can be top 4!

3. Bargaining: If we just have kept Beams, if Freeman and Scharenberg never had got injured am sure life would have been different!

4. Depression: Nothings goes our way! Why bother spend my hard earned every year watching a display of embarrassing ineptitude week in week out of these oxygen thieves.

5. Acceptance: At 6:05pm after watching Howe spot up Mitchell, Taylor Adams cough up another possession, Grundy spill the ball in our defence for a goal, Fasolo slip over for the 6th time against that "beast" of a player Sicily and Tom Phillips turnover the ball lace out to the Hawks for another goal I come to the comfortable and acceptance of my grief that we are simply a bottom 4 side.

So no more sliding doors moments, what if's or if only. I have peace and reconciled my grief of acceptance that we are 15th side on the AFL ladder
and miles away from the ultimate!

Ha ! Yep, and right now id say our fans are feeling just like Tony Abbott is, angry, resentful, pissed off, vengeful, sniping, bitter and twisted, frothing at the mouth, gutted completely. Razz

Laughing All character building they say!!

With the final stage of acceptance comes the realization that it's all over for Bucks. I'm sure he realizes it too, but pride will have him stay until the end of the season. That's okay... I reckon he will still give his all and we won't lose a lot from it, probably gain something, if some future prospects can be given a go.

It's all okay - at least we are not fleeing Syria because we can't feed our children!!! What we have here is a first-world problem!

What I do fail to accept is that a football mind like that of Buck's won't leave some positive outcomes for some of the players at our club and from that, we will rise from the ashes!! Smile It won't have all been for nothing!

A short story Soretooth. 2 weeks ago We layed to rest a cousin of mine and the after the wake at his brothers house we consumed, in order.I swear,Beer, then wine, didn't have the vodka but a new bottle of Chivas went south and too too much grappa ,home made, and then flew home to Qld the next day.Only STILL just getting over that and now this. Should I repeat? Because I am surely grieving the near death of our beloved club. Crying or Very sad

I understand all about grief mudlark. Lost my beloved grandmother this past week. My condolensces to you on your cousin's passing. They can be very important figures in our loves.

I don't believe ur beloved club is near death. Collingwood? Never!!!! Some amazing things will come out of these five years out of the finals. Just you wait and see!

Actually 3 good things came out of just today:

1. DeGoey proved he can be a midfield gun (if he wants it).
2. Thomas returned and played well.
3. Cox showed that, whilst he may not be a long term solution, he might be short term fix.
(he does, however, need to develop his tank - Pendles having to ruck was embarrassing)

Same old same old. Our supposed top tier of players lack a Jeff Horn "right hook punch"! yes you:

* Treloar
* Sidey
* Adams
* Pendles

Truth hurts but they don't punish opponents with sufficient "hurt factor"!
