Post subject: Geelong steals another one!!!! Why not us? | |

i am beginning to think that the only difference between the top team and us is their ability to prevail in the close ones. Some teams just always seem to be on the right side of the line when the siren goes.
Look at GWS, their last two games came down to one lucky break just before the siren.
is it just that they have composure where we don't, is it coaching, is it cream rising to the top or is it just dumb luck? _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk .......

One is a game we should have won easily.
The other is a game we just should have been able to hold on to.
Both will prove to be reasons why we are not a top 8 team. I mean its easy to say "you change those to wins and we'd be....", it's just that being 5-4 would look so much better than 3-6 right now. And we fkn should be.
Carlton game was coaching. GWS was luck. Just hope we can string some together now. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

The fickle bounce of an oval ball can make or break your day too.
Looked like a blue from Polec when the ball bounced in the Cats goal square with a minute to go. Polec chose to wait for the bounce and Dangerfield just flat out attacked the ball. Great players make the most of their moment.
Polec ..... not so much. |

Why not us?
Well, as compared to Geelong, we do not have a home ground/home crowd and miss out on all of the benefits that provides. |

We beat Sydney in Sydney by one point - I would classify that as a close win. We lost to GWS in Sydney by 3 points - I would classify that a close loss.
No other games have been within a goal margin. Or do we stretch the term "close" to include losses like to Carlton, St Kilda, Richmond, Bulldogs (all were a couple of goals).
Our problems aren't close losses, that does not accurately describe our year at all. |

Apart from the complete stuff up of the Charlie Dixon shot at goal, I thought Port were outplayed. Jasper got caught with the ball, and the miracle man Robbie Gray had 2 men on him in the last 30 seconds.
It was a case of one champion, Dangerfield, producing the big play, and the other, Gray unable to do so...
That's footy, close finish style. |

It helps when you have your own home ground and you bring your own umpires,as in the case of Geelong.Let's see how they go in September on a real ground like the M.C.G. |

It was an unacceptable umpiring performance.
If we were done over all night like that, we would be screaming like Lazza and the Lollipops of any criticism at the AGM. |

We stole a game from Richmond last year and this season we just held on to beat the Swans. Sadly we just lost to the Giants. Overall, our record is pretty good in really tight games.....unlike Richmond. |
