That half a day extra recovery Richmond had obviously the difference today...

If we miss the 8 by a game its not because of ANZAC Day, its because our coach £$%$ed up an easy draw. Lets face it, we wouldnt beat Richmond if they came off a 3 day break and we had a week off!

Obviously you didn’t watch the game and just looked at the final score. Which by the way blew out in the last 15 min, when we had three players limping. I know because I stayed to support my team til the final siren. Those boys busted their arse, and for most of the game looked super competitive. Lacking a little classs sure, Varcoe or Billy could have made a massive difference, and certainly another day off. Quite frankly I got pissed off when half the crowd vacated their seats with plenty left on the clock. The team did not deserve that. The tigers had their full team out there, their sniping was allowed due to the premiers law, and yes, their experience showed in the end. But if that’s all the6 have got, and they had to play their best, they don’t impress me. And we ain’t that far away. Anyone who went to that game yesterday with winning expectations was dreaming, and yet we damn near pulled it off.

What I hope is we are practicing our kicking skills as the ther teams will take note of all the hand passes.

This game reminded me of 2011; THAT game, we just could quite get there.

Not on a Wednesday again until 2029.

Just leave it.

* Just a note, coz I'm seeing it wrong in other threads too... it's ANZAC day, there are no lower case letters in ANZAC day!

Well if we miss the 8 by a game I’ll see if you think it’s an over-reaction.

We don't know what will happen at the end of the season, so there's no point speculating at this stage.

The Tigers are the best side in the competition, so they would have been difficult to beat even with a standard 6 to 8 day break.

All things considered, we competed well for 3.5 quarters, but ran out of gas in the last five to ten minutes.

The ANZAC Day fixture is a marquee fixture. 16 other clubs would love to be in Collingwood and Essendon's position.

I agree with you that we should leave it as it is. Good to know that with 2024 being a leap year, ANZAC Day bypasses Wednesday the next time round.
