Melbourne and Fremantle are going to be the tough games we're going to face, the Dees have been a very Jekyll and Hyde side this season. So we could go close but I'm not too sure how we're going to match against the Dockers and Dees though.

The Bears and Deeeees we should, should win, but the Purple haze is another matter, over there, though they did lose over there not long ago, I recall. We may well push them, as we did with GWS.

Settle down, the way we are playing I am afraid to look 1 quarter ahead let alone 3 games.

Although we do owe Melbourne for the last few games against them, they have made us look silly.

Even if we drop one of those games and are 5/7 at the bye, this keeps our finals hopes alive. However, there's no point thinking ahead. One week at a time is all we can do. I'm hoping we can smash the Bears.

The answer is Yes, we can be 6-6 at the bye. We are good enough to win all three games, but will we be able to play 12 quarters of consistent good footy.

We will beat Brisbane easily, so we will get to 4-6.

Freo and Melbourne are 50/50 games. We could lose both, we could win both or we could split them, one win, one loss.

Freo have been winning, but they are less than convincing. We travel well and the big ground at Subi suits our style of play. Sandi is the key to them, as his dominance in the ruck gives their gun mids first use. In this game, I would play Cox as the main ruckman to negate Sandi, which will go a long way to us winning the game.

Melbourne on their day are a very good side, but as they are young like they us, they are up and down. Part of their inconsistency is due to having key personnel missing, especially Gawn and Hogan. There is some talk Gawn may be back for this game, which will make a difference as he killed us last year. As it is Melbourne's biggest home and away game for the year, you would expect they would bring their best. Part of their best is their relentless pressure, so the key to this game is will we be able to handle their pressure. On the evidence to date in 2017, the answer is No, as we have failed under pressure against St Kilda, Essendon and Carlton.

So, based on 2017 form, I would go with us splitting the Freo (win) and Melbourne (lose) games and being 5-7 at the bye. However, if we knock off Freo, then we will be full of confidence and the Melbourne game becomes more winnable. If we lose to Freo, then we will likely be 4-8 at the bye.

I so much want to be proven wrong but I hate to think what the reinvented Dockers will do to us over there.
Their forward line has options and the centreline has good speed.
I won't be pe counting this one in as a win just yet.
Fyfe hasn't even had an impact yet !

I cant figure out this team.

If we play like we did in Round 1, the first half of round 3, round 6, most of round 8 and the second half of round 9, we can win.

If we play like round 4, parts of round 5, specifically round 7 and the first half of round 9, we will be beaten.

Who knows which Collingwood will turn up? Im hoping the good one.

The critics are saying that the Swans are a big chance to make the finals. They are 6.3% higher than us on the ladder. That's it. So, if they can still make it, we can too. But it all starts with a convincing win against the Lions this week.

Also, along with winning most of our remaining games, we'd need some of the teams floating inside the 8 to screw up too.

Crows, GWS, Cats, WCE are all safe IMO. Bulldogs should be able to hang on, which leaves Freo, Tigers and Port as the most likely teams to fall out of the current top 8. (Wouldn't it be sweet if it were the Tigs who finished 9th).

Other teams pressing for the top 8 are the Saints, Bombers, Dees and Swans. But every team from 12th to 17th has 3 wins, which includes us. So once we finish the bye rounds, we'll know a lot more. We cannot afford to lose the "winnable games" and we'd need to upset Freo and Port (after the bye).

So let's revisit this in a few weeks.

If we play the football we've shown we're capable of playing, we make finals.

We play the football we've been dishing up too often, no chance.

let's see.
