Lions looked ok early Vs the Crows... but err... something bad happened. (Lost by 80).

Is this Beams first match against the Pies in Melbourne?

After todays comeback, we'd fancy ourselves to win this one comfortably.

We'll see if Rockliff gets up during the week.

Bit early donny, but we should win, if tonights team turns up and plays a second half like that again, PIes by plenty, we hope.

I thought Phillips was good tonight. Was involved in some crucial strings in the third. Finished with mid 20s.

In: Scharenberg
Out: Aish (Jaw)

I agree. Better than the usual out Blair but that will come.

Yes, I am supremely confident about this one. There is no doubt the corner has been turned and the Mighty Pies are now back in town. The false dawns are no more!

The lions will be on the menu next week. Massive win expected here, we will be huge favourites and we will embrace the challenge and deliver handsomely.

Pies 24.17.161
Cubs 8.8.56

Lock this one deep inside the bank vault for a huge percentage boost.

Sorry Monco Matt, but so far, I don't believe we bring the right attitude when we start as favourites. Hopefully, the game against the Hawks will give many players a kick up the bum and we will get the massive win we would so enjoy.

Wanted to say:

"Lets bring in Mayne and tell him unless he kicks 5 goals minimum, he'll never see AFL action again."

But then I thought, that's silly.

I wrote that before I realised that Aish had a broken cheekbone, so indeed you are right -Aish out, Shaz in.

I thought Phillips looked too slow in his reflexes - a classic VFL -player-at-AFL -Level problem - several times tonight as kicks were smothered at critical stages. But I am not sure we have a better option given that Aish will go out.

Can Brown replace Blair ? I suspect he is a bit slight yet, to be honest, so Bilbo gets at least another week.

I'm not sure that Phillips has the required class, on the basis of what we have seen - but I hope I am wrong.

Which Collingwood will turn up?
1st qtr Collingwood or 3rd qtr Collingwood?
Even Bucks at the presser didn't seem sure which Collingwood turns up week to week.

It doesn't matter which Collingwood turns up. We're a bottom four side until we fix up the structural weaknesses in the side. I think Buckley is both the greatest tactical coach we're ever had, combined with the worse strategic coach we're ever had. That's why we're so up and down. Fortunately there's a lot to like with the VFL team, Brown, Keeffe (as a defender), Scharenberg in particular. Fasolo and Crisp are so out of form you have to question their place in the team. Adams, Pendlebury and Treloar can't keep willing us over the line. The better teams will stop that. We need other players to contribute and at the moment about a third of the team are passengers.

Josh Thomas offers so much more than Blair. Kicked 2 again yesterday and had over 25 for 3rd straight week. Bring him in

This, the Kirbinator is an excitement machine who is too heavy to jump, so will get goals the old fashioned forward pocket way [aka front and square] instead of the Fasolo way [aka the Blair way aka the Tony Modra way]. Give him a crack! He's averaging 2 goals a game in the twos with two bags of 3 in the last two games.
