What is wrong with this side ? How can that happen ?
I thought the writing was on the wall at half time, and I was wrong. Congratulations, boys, but the Hawks are far from the competition benchmark and we still have a LOONG way to go.
Confidence is gold, and I suppose that what we saw in the first half was what happens when confidence is lost. Maynard was a perfect case in point -
truly a horrible game, he was excellent in the second half.
Hopefully we can take something from this and take off from here.

| I think tonight proves that perhaps the issue is not the coach. Great comeback but I don't want to let them off that easily. I've noticed a pattern this year, every time we have an average first quarter, we tend to never get back in games. I was certain that we would peg it back a little each quarter and lose by 20-30 points. Finally we bucked this trend. We have a lot of work to do but tonight the tide may have turned. |

Great comeback. They showed some real spirit and the passion from the crowd was awesome!
This side could be so much better though. We still need someone who can change their mindset and get them to play consistent committed footy, not just when their backs are against the wall.
Celebrate the win, but some cracks were papered over for another week.

A great comeback but let's put into perspective a pretty bad hawthorn team with many players missing and we were asleep for 40 minutes.
That was a 10+ goal victory and a chance to get our % back into the black.
As awesome as the 3rd quarter was the 1st was putrid and probably our worst footy this year and we have played some pretty shit footy this year.
This type of game just confuses me even more. I still think another coach will get more out of this team.
