Mayne marks uncontested on the outer wing, hits up Borthwick inboard.
Borthwick goes long into the 50, looking for Starcevich, got him!
From 35m, 45d... misses...

Throw in 50 from 50m.
White wins it to the back, Mayne the rove, inspired by his goal, hands off to Blair, Blair jams it on the boot from 45, it's coming back... GOAL!!!

Sounds like we muffed a few golden opportunities, we really need to review the goal kicking and forward set-ups and coaches right through the club.
Sounds like Blair did OK, enough to warrant a recall perchance? _________________ "The last thing he expected WAS THE FIRST THING HE GOT!!!!!"

Why would you want to do that??
Try out players who may have a future not ones that don't.
That includes Jessie. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

The manner in which we deliver the ball doesn't help our forwards, no point kicking the ball above their heads when they're beaten for height. The same can be said for our general ball use around the ground too.
Daicos - ripper first quarter and got a fair bit of footy overall albeit he turned it over a few times. Today was the first time I've noticed how good his marking is.
Kirby - battled hard and presented well, but in contrast to Daicos his touch wasn't quite there today
Scharenberg - our best across the four quarters
Aish - worked into the game from the second quarter. A good game at half back and while under developed I think he possesses the necessary defensive abilities where in future he won't get exposed one on one.
Blair - played mid all game and was our best in the middle of the ground.
Mayne - our ball use doesn't help, but he seems a fair way off AFL
Crocker - presented well and took a few nice marks, but was in and out of the game
White - played ruck, a few nice taps and a few nice marks. Thought he was good without ever dominating
McLarty - still learning positioning etc in the contest and at times got exposed by a bigger opponent, but I thought he played a solid game
Brown - it didn't come off, but I liked that he tried to take the game on today. With more strength he'll hopefully break those tackles.
Wills / Thomas - did not play |

Thanks for the commentary MB, and thank you to Barrackers for his match report.
Doesn't sound like there's a lot to get excited about. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Yep. Thanks again Batsy and to barrackers for the player review.
Dont know if there isnt much to get excited about... maybe just not directly for this match coming up against GWS.
Really cant wait to see Brown, Kirby and Daicos play later in the year.
I'm mostly disappointed with Maine. If he is that far off AFL, then we've made a big mistake bringing him over.
Guessing White is a big chance to come back in Vs GWS. And obviously Scharenberg. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
