Always a great feeling to beat the Cats, as at least 3 of my family are Geelong fans.

Even better when I saw this: Smile

AND Essendoper got poleaxed too, back in their box after bragging over a rare Anzac day win, right back in the box. Very Happy Laughing

Very Happy cream on the cake watching the Tigers get put back in their box. Pop a cap off a brewski and enjoy the last quarter!!

OUT: Cox (can't run out a game), Varcoe (if injured)

IN: Reid, Wills

No! Moore is a kid trying to learn the ropes of playing forward. Don't put the added pressure and physicality of playing him in the ruck yet.

As Lethal pointed out on the coverage, the circle and no third man make it much easier for younger lighter bodies to compete. He's only a chop out as Grundy rucks 90% anyway and Moore, like Grundy, is very good at ground level as well.

Cox is a liability right now. The only other choices are White or Keeffe.

Reid in for Cox?

Yes. Means we play with 22, not 21. Cox is always puffed and done at half time. Grundy rucks 90% + anyway and Moore can chop out. Options forward are then from Goldsack/Reid/Howe.

On Cox: I don't like him in the team. I'd prefer Mayne. If we don't have decent KPPs then play a medium who can compete in the air and on the ground. He crashes packs better than Cox anyway. If not Mayne then White has shown more than Cox and Reid is an option with Dunn down back.

That said: if the club believes in Cox then give him a block of games. We lost faith after one game at the start of the season and we just can't do that with a guy still learning the game. Need to back our judgement.

Excellent win.
One of the best in quite a long time.
It wasn't that we won it was the way we won.
Fast ball movement thru the guts and gut running
broke the cats apart.
Geelong look to me an ordinary side.
Sit on Selwood, Dangerfield and the big spud up forward
and you are home.
We have a very good midfield and if we hold up both defence and forwards we may go a fair way.
To those people who talk about our kicking over the last few years including me.
Have a look at the expert in the trade in Wells.
How good is the way he delivers the ball.
Absolutely fantastic.
The game from Crisp was a pearler, absolutely magnificent.
Lastly, we need to keep faith in Cox, he did a lot of good things today plus a lot of clangers.
It is either Cox or White.
Cox has potential White hasn't.
Lastly to see us take the game on at every stage was excellent.
If we keep doing this then our season could turn around.

What the hell just happened there, and why ?

We are starting to get our best side on the ground is what happened.I think Reid,DeGoey and Sharenburg come in for Goldsack,Phillips and Cox and we have our premier side in.WHY??? Lynden Dunn has been left out for so long is ridiculous. Same with Scharenburg. We have a possible Bontompelli cooling his heels??? very proud of them today and we could quite easily be 4 and 2 or better. Bring on the scum.

p.s. In case you missed it, fun pre-match exchange between Eduardo and Bucks: https://twitter.com/WillHillAus/status/858542699594498050

Fantastic win.
Hopefully its the start of a winning streak.

Forward line was the difference compared to the rest of the season.

Wells just makes things happen.

Great effort. Pendles back to something like his best. Adams, Treloar good. Grundy super. Well done Josh Smith - proved the recall justified. Wells silky, and adds not only class but disposal efficiency. Dunn needs to stay. Good job Darcy, Elliot and Faz. I could keep going but just say good team performance.

It proves if we can kick straight we're still in this.

Oops - forgot Greenwood's great job on Duckwood.

So good to see Wells out there and having the impact we always expected. Not bad seeing Jamie either.

This game was simply a great team performance. Our team defence was more impressive than the improved ball movement and scoring. Kept the Cats to 78 when they'd not scored under 100 all year. One on one our defence would have struggled badly, but we put on enough pressure and covered well.

I'd like to hear from all those who whinged and moaned about "WASTING"??? money on Wells. What a super star.He held us together in the last qtr when we could quite easily have capitulated.

Given the 5 day turn around, that was an amazing and a heroic performance, especially after losing Varcoe. I was worried that our players would run out of legs, but we were running better than the Cats at the end. Apart from the last quarter, our dominance at clearances was exemplary. Grundy was dominant as were Pendles, Adams and obviously Greenwood. It was Crisp's best game for the year and Treloar and Wells stood up in the last quarter when others were beginning to tire. Elliott worked hard, without much reward, as did Fasolo, who at least dobbed a beauty just when we needed it. Moore held his marks and that made all the difference.

The only negatives (from watching on TV) were Cox, who does not take near enough marks for his size, but he did some good tap work and gave off a few slick handballs. At least with him in the side, he attracts attention form the opposition, and he does bring the ball to ground. Apart from a nice crumbing goal, Broomhead had another quiet game. With Varcoe a likely omission for next week, De Goey should be a like for like replacement. Dunn did his job today, but Reid will replace him next week. That's probably the only changes we'll make, though Wills must be a possible inclusion (maybe for Broomhead), after being our best in the VFL.

Overall, we should all be thrilled with today's game. Onward and upward Pies.

From a 43 disposal game, last round, Selwood's stats ranked him 15th., of their players, today.
