We won't find out until he has the opportunity to captain the side under a coach who knows what he is doing

From the outside looking in, Pendles strikes me as a passive figure who lets his actions do the talking with the way he conducts himself at training and on the field.

He's an exemplary professional who sets himself the highest standards, so in that regard, he's a great example for other players to look up to in the way to play the game and how to conduct themselves.

However, it's difficult to tell whether he's a good captain as none of us are in the inner-sanctum.

I love Pendles. He's a brilliant player who gives his all for Collingwood.
As far as on field/game time leadership goes though, he's not assertive enough.
I am completely biased I admit, but to to me, Maxy was the best captain we've had in eons. He wasn't afraid to tell anyone what's what. Remember when he gave Fas a rough up in the backline? Remember when he and Heater had full on arguments on the field? He was not afraid to assert his leadership on the ground, in the moment. He talked the talk and walked the walk.

Sadly, I can't see anyone in the team at the moment, who might be able to take on such a role as Maxy.... not at the moment anyway. Someone might emerge in the near future.

Can't think of a worse Captain ever! Let the team record over the last five years do the talking. How much are we paying this guy?

Pendles is the man.

And the captaincy is the least of our problems right now anyway.

Captains & leaders come in different styles
Pendles is a lead by example type not a known overly loud or confrontational type
Th other leaders need to fill the gaps he has
Adams is most vocal but really he's learning on the job
Sidey is neither vocal or leads by example
He's inconsistent in performance and is symptomatic of our form line. When we're going good he looks good but when times are tough he's a error machine
We need a variety of leaders and really should be looking and figuring out who can be our next premiership captain
I think the answer lays some where between Adams Grundy Moore as a combination
The skipper is the least of our issues really
