based on the assumption that your season is over if you start a season 0-2, there are no fewer than 8 teams whose season's are already over.

Aside from the historical significance (has there ever been a season in history where 8 teams started 0-2), does this mean we are already down to a 10 team battle for the top 8, or is it safe to assume there might be at least one and maybe more 0-2 teams in this year's finals?

Yep, they are gawn, gawn and gawn !!!! LOL, actually making the finals is a big ask this season, I reckon . I reckon the Giants, swans, crows, port, and weagles are certs, that leaves three spots, for dogs, cats, and then one lousy spot left for the tiges, pies, saints, deeees, bombers to fight over. The eighth spot could be decided on percentage, from four teams. !

No, but two games next week will end the season for two teams

Sydney v Collingwood

GC v Hawthorn

With the loser going 0 - 3, their season is over.

I don't buy that.

The H&A season is 22 games. 12 or 13 wins will get you into finals. So you can drop 9 games and still play finals.

Starting off 0-3 doesn't automatically mean you're as shit team. The hawks last year won about 6 games by less than a goal. Reverse that, they finish below us on the ladder, but they played finals.

Dogs won from 7th.

I'll call season over when we can't make finals.

Since the final 8 was created in 1994, never have 8 teams been on 2 wins apiece after round 2. Closest was 7/8, twice, in 1995 and 2013. Interestingly it was Hawthorn in 9th place in 2013.

If we're looking at stats, since 2008 45 teams have started the season 0-2. Only one went on to play finals footy (Sydney 2014, this is from the Age today).

Given our list, all i will say is we at least have more upside then Hawthorn...They got the old ageing list sinking feeling.....they will get the odd surprise win that gives fans a "glimpse" of hope and days gone by. But for the most part I think they are done.

Greatest worry for Hawthorn is that the gun imports (jaeger o'meara/ Tom Mitchell) have played well. Depth is now being shown up.

It was always going to be tough to make finals, but we have a few of our best players to come back in, so anything is possible until we mathematically can't make it. That said, we need to start winning as soon as possible, so the Sydney game becomes a must win.

I will not write us off until its mathematically impossible for us to do it. Then, and only then, should Bucks front the media, and announce hes moving on. Sanderson then takes over the last few games, while we look for our next coach, I guess either Roos or Ratten. Until then, I have hope we can make it.

^I'm not sure what this means but I have us winning 11 and losing 11 and probably finishing 11th.

If that's what you meant, I agree!
