Wasn't Wells a free-agent? Hoskin-Elliott was a great get. We recruited Brown and Daicos. Who else?

nate brown doesn't understand something.

Rolling Eyes

It must be nice being paid to give an opinion when your intellectual equals are found in the nursery at bunnings.

Our recruiting since 2012 has been very hard to work out.

We traded Wellingham and Dawes out in a comprimised period of the draft.

Are we rebuilding? Are we challenging?

It's a state of mixed signals.

In fairness on these two Wellingham got us Grundy and Dawes did nothing at melbourne and we still have Broomhead who is still developing and when fit could give us something.

You'd lose.

Not that you would find that a new experience in a battle of wits.

Wellingham was partying too much with Buddy and Dawes didn't like the recruitment of the Q Stick.

Nathan Brown is incorrect in that we've looked to top up with recycled players long before last off season with Mayne and Wells.

Unfortunately only Howe has been a genuine success currently producing career best football.

Our poor strike rate when it comes to this has played a not to insignificant role in our tumble down the ladder.

Think he has some valid points.

Total crap from someone outside the club who doesn't know what he's talking about. These are the players we picked up in the draft:
McLarty - future CHB
Callum Brown - contested inside mid
Kirby - crumbing forward
Josh Daicos - crumbing forward
McCarthy - future ruck/ CHF
Lynch - future ruck
Mackie - running half back
The above are 18/19 year olds who are the actual future of the club who complement the Treloar's, Adams and Maynards ( who Nathan Brown doesn't mention)
Now we get to the recycled players who we brought in to replace the experienced players who moved on (Swan, Cloke, Toovey, Macaffer etc):
Wells - hasn't hit the field yet; how can you comment?
Mayne - started slowly; wait a few more games before commenting
Dunn - Schade is keeping him out of the side
Schade - holding down a key position; no worse than Frost or Brown
WHE - not really a recycled player; not his fault we lost the first 2 games

Wellingham wanted out... the club didn't want him gone. Dawes was a flawed player - and remained so to the end of his career.

Great call by BucksIsFutureCoach above if you ask me.

WHE looks like he will be a real weapon. No one can say Wells is done. He copped a kick to the calf. How many players have that happen? Dumb bad luck, that's all. Mayne is fitting in OK. He's not setting the world on fire but it's not like he's running around getting 5 touches and not hitting the scoreboard.

That recruitment everyone is criticising has brought in Treloar, Adams, Howe amongst others. I'll take those thanks. White is s scapegoat for many but he's going OK. Some people talk like a recruit has to be in the top 10 players in the league for it to be a success. Ridiculous.

Wells didn't cop a kick to the calf.

That line of bullshit has been dealt out by the club before and no one believes it.

To get Adams, the club gave away Heath Shaw who is now a dual AA player for GWS.

To get Treloar, the team handed over two 7 picks in the draft.

Our list management has been very poor for years.
